I'm not sure there was really anything to ruin in Sanchez. Granted the Jets didn't do him any favors but he's always been slow to read defenses, he's never been accurate with his throws, even failing on the most simple passes to be accurate and give his recievers a chance to make something after the catch. You can blame mishap and injury if you want, but the fact remains that the offense has been miserable, the play calling worse. Schotty ran an overly complex offense granted, and I won't call him a top OC, but I also don't think it's co-incidental that the Jets have dropped to 31st in the league in offense from I think 23rd last in, in terms of points scored, while the Rams have gone from the 31st worst offense to I think the 22nd. Not a glowing endorsement of Schotty by any means, and it's only one seasons results, but Miami had a putrid offense under him, and the Jets have a putrid offense under him.

He's an OC who believes in the old ground and pound philosophy, unfortunately the league, and the rules of the game, have passed the philosophy by. You can no longer play for field goals and hope for the best if you want to be anything more than a .500 or lower team. The rules on passing, and protecting recievers have moved so far towards the offense and put the defense at such a disadvantage that by focusing on a ground and pound, unless you have Peterson, isn't going to get you anywhere these days. The game has evolved, for better or for worse.

Tannenbaum is Sparano's biggest supporter? WTF!? If that's true, it really shows that Mike T. is clueless about football.

EDIT - I just remembered that Sparano is a Parcells guy just like Tannenbaum.

Great news! Soprano has really made this season a lot more difficult, in conjunction with Sanchez. That fist pump after a field goal is just sad. I hope we get norv.

They need to grease up Sporano and shove him up Tannenbum's ass. Then put them both in a big cannon and shoot them out into the Atlantic

Sparano is hot garbage, but people asking for Norv is a real head-scratcher. Have u seen what this guy has done to Rivers in San Diego?? And the chargers have more offensive weapons than we do right now. This isn't going to be an issue that's going to get solved overnight. It's gonna suck to be in/watch this offense for quite some time.

I would hold off on finding an OC until maybe after the SB is over.

Norv is the head coach not the offensive coordinator and I think rivers decline is more to the chargers slowly but surely losing all the offensive weapons they had and not replacing them with competent options.

I read or heard someone mention that Kosar declined around the same time. Makes you wonder if that throwing style does damage to the arm strength.

I know he's not the OC, but Norv, like Rex, was highly involved in the offense. Like Rex , he actually calls the plays at key situations.

I don't actually have the team stats in front of me, but the Chargers offense has been on a decline even when they had VJax, Gates, Tolbert and Mathews. That's more weapons than we have with a healthy roster.

    Dead on LTJF...dead on.

People can bitch and moan about the talent but this team from the offensive line shifts...using of the Tight ends...that friggin wildcat play we used EVERY WEEK where they snap it and run up the middle for 2 yards and of course the bland play calling was that of a offensive line coach..where he belongs.

This hiring from the beginning screamed of stupidity but fit the Jet way of doing things. A team whose real nickname should be the Maybe's. Every decision we make is a maybe. Maybe this guy will work..maybe this might work..maybe this guy could be a replacement and maybe a guy that succeeded in the wildcat 3 years ago but since then, the league has caught on to it...MAYBE he could be a good OC.

This team better make sure wherever they go and whatever they do is a sure thing. Some might say nothing is a sure thing..bullshit. Im not a GM or a scout but the decisions I make in my business with changes better work.

Norv Turner? That SHOULD work..and if it doesn't..at least it wasn't a maybe..it should have worked but didn't. No maybes..no gambles no what ifs..no bullshit. Somebody needs to grab this franchise by the balls and just tell them to shut the fuck up and coach...play...draft..but first and foremost...shut the fuck up.

Sorry for the cursing but its getting old being a laughing stock. This team needs a no nonsense person with a huge set of balls that is ready to rock the boat. Period.

He did have zero to wok with....but there's no screen game, no wheel routes, and no 3 second throws.

You know, the modern NFL passing game....

Too bad Rex didn't get the memo from the NFL about that. Rex got the OC that he wanted and the offense he desired. Pretty soon, I expect Paleontologists to come and unearth the Jets offensive playbook for carbon dating.

The question is, did Rex Ryan learn his lesson? Sometimes I think when the Jets do these stupid mistakes, they never learn from them.
