3 reasons and they're all very simple

1.) Fans love to bash somebody. I've seen, on this very forum, David Harris, Muhammed Wilkerson, LaRon Landry, Jeremy Kerley, and Quinton Coples get bashed. If you haven't watched this season, those are our few good/solid players. Basically anybody's who not Revis gets bashed.

2.) Its not so much the player, its the value. He was first round (I believe something like 25). It's kind of a less severe Sanchez. I remember somebody saying the Browns were neck and neck between Hayden and Wilson. Dude never lived up to his hype.

3.) He's symbolic of the tanking season. Guaranteed we'd have at least two more wins had Revis stayed healthy. The man in his shoes becomes the scapegoat.

I think that I read somewhere that even if we trade Revis we would be taking a hit on cap. I say sign that beast, sign Cro. Cut the old washed up LBs. The offense has to be COMPLETELY rebuilt. As for the money for the offense if we resign Revis and Cro, I think that we have enought money invested on 3 players on offense that if all were to be gone, we could put a decent offense on the field every Sunday.

About the 2 more wins, possibly. No team has really thrown on us that much this year. I just don't understand how were 2nd in pass D and the people that bash him can't explain to me how if Kyle is so bad. I agree though, people bash on everyone if they are not the best.

I believe the net hit if traded this offseason would be $3MM..

Revis doesn't just have an effect on the one receiver he's covering.

It affects the run defense, pass rush, coverage on the slot.

The greatness that was the defense of playoffs past existed primarily because we could put 10 fuckin dudes in the box if we wanted. That's why CBs like Revis (and to some extent Cromartie) are so so valuable. It gives you freedom to use your safeties and linebackers however you feel like. You can blitz 6 and still keep a spy. Having 100% confidence in your CBs is so so rare and so so valuable.

Its also important to note that having Revis in at 1 and Wilson at 3 would mean that we wouldn't be forced to put Ellis Lankster out there. Who truly is a bum.

This defense with Revis and w.o Revis is a completely different group. Regardless of who the other 2 CBs are.

He gets beat. The pass is incomplete because it was overthrown or underthrown. He celebrates like he did something. That is my only beef with him.

wilson got screwed a bit by rex, when he stood out there on draft day and declared the guy a starter... i almost shit myself when i heard that. once he didnt prove to be that starter and needed time to develop it was no good.

he this year has been a very serviceable db, i cant say i have any issue with him at this point.

He's not great but he's serviceable. Not a great pick, but the only reason I hate him is because of his obnoxious celebrations when he does nothing.

Kyle Wilson is not a good CB...might never be a good NFL CB, but what he can be is a very good NFL caliber Free Safety. Wilson has good speed, which is an asset as a F.S. Wilson plays great when he has the play in front of him. He doesn't back-peddle well, which is a pre-requisite of playing the CB position at a high level.
If Jets were smart enough to play him at F.S. & pair him with Landry at Strong Safety, Jets would hands down have the best secondary in the NFL.....Cromartie, Revis, Landry & Wilson.

Wilson isn't a good CB! He looked decent his rookie year as a FS. Put him as a CB and the guy gets beat worse than Pacquiao.

I dont like him,,he is undersized, gets beat on double moves, doesn't look for the ball when defending deep passes and makes a big deal when he does make a play

I don't understand why anyone wouldn't understand why Kyle Wilson deserves to be bashed.

He's been the #2 corner all year, and were 30 yards from being #1 on pass D. You tell me.

What personal stats would indicate he is anything special? Do you even know what his stats are?

Wilson tried to cut in front of the ball. He had Cromartie over the top who completely whiffed. But that must be KW's fault too. Dumb post.

Who cares if he celebrates. Maybe he is just excited that the ball is incomplete. People here are ridiculous. They complain when its third down ball incomplete but Wilson celebrates when he was near the play if he had nothing to do with it. So fucking what? When someone gets a sack other players celebrate too? Do you guys complain about that too. Thats the stupidest reason to dislike a player. You're like the guy who complains about Laron clapping.
