To quote Triumph the insult comic dog, Rex is a GREAT coach" for me to do number 2 on!" Seriously..... He sucks...on toes and bunyons. OK, OK... He needed to be fired like last year.
i like rex a lot. but i think he has a few major weaknesses. like the way he - as head coach - has allowed the offense to completely atrophy and die the past few years. i love the defense and i think he sets a strong tone. which are both massive plusses for him. but i also wonder if he has total control. that's something i can't know. i think he's not the problem though.
To keep trotting Mark out there was a big mistake. Once he was pulled they should have never gone back to him and he should have been pulled long before last week. If you want to say did I see Mcelroys last game let me say to you DID YOU SEE MARK PLAY THIS YEAR ?
Rex is the best coach we've had since Parcells. He has more playoff wins than anyone in the history of our team. But lets fire him and start the cycle all over again. Who do you guys want to hire that we can fire again in 4 years.
Mark is a better QB than Mcelroy who is absolutely awful. Anyone who thinks Greg Mcelroy has any future as a starting QB is absolutely retarded. Sanchez might be done here but he has a chance to be a starting QB again on another team. Greg is a never was.
Havent you seen Sanchez the other 14 games? And no, staring at your Sanchez posters every night isn't what im talking about....
He sure did with mostly Mangini players. But hey, lets keep the guy another 10 years for living off of another coaches players and having some success. Dont even bother to mention that his inability to remove Sanchez earlier this year, which may be a factor in missing the playoffs, losing the locker room last year, team quitting on him last game, the rah rah crap that makes him look like an idiot, horrible clock management, hiring Sporano, inability to get some good offensive players in here, trying to run an out of date ground and pound when this is no longer a running league. The fact that Rex had more success than any other coach here speaks more on the Jets then Rex himself. The guy is in over his head and should be a DC, definitely not a head coach...
Great is pushing it. I would say he is a good coach that deserves someone else besides Sanchez. And to everyone saying he took Manigni's talent, how come Manigini couldn't do it with a HOF QB but Rex could do it with arguably the worst QB in the league? And Braylon, Tone, Scott, Leonard, Wilson, Greene, Slauson, Sanchez, Cro, LT all were not Mangini players
A coaches job is to coach not to draft and bring in players. So what does Mangini have to do with anything. Rex did a better job with Mangini's players than Mangini did. So what.
It's a problem with the Jets organization because the GM is just a former accountant. Because of this he's too heavily influenced by his HC on draft day. Is this Rex fault? Not at all. It's a flaw within the Jets football hierarchy.
Exactly. And Rex hasn't exactly done a bad job evaluating defensive players. We need a new GM I would never argue against that. We have scouts and tons of people whose jobs it is to evaluate players. They are the ones who have fallen short.
He gambled and rode Sanchez's coattails into oblivion. He deserves to go like the rest of this staff.
By what you said, Rex shares the blame with Tanny. How do you separate the two? You can't say all the good things was Rex and all the bad was Tanny.
mcelroy looked a LOT better last week than suckchise would have under the same conditions. we would not have scored 14 points, and he would have given san diego a lot more gift points than just 3. or did you forget the thanksgiving turkey already?
 record at bama: 27-3. has highest completion % in school history. has lowest pick % in school history. played three years as starter. won national championship. the only never was on the jets is the guy whose college coach said publically was not ready for the nfl.:metal:
he is a defensive expert. which doesn't explain why the defense was out to lunch last week. he knows zero offense, and made the same mistake that got his dad fired in both philly and arizona. dull , non-scoring offense stuck with non-talent veteran qb who doesn't put points on the board. you can't win most games by 3 points or less without burning out your defense.
Oh wow lets bring up college football like that means anything. Tebow is such a great QB too right. What an awful argument. First career start. NFL record for most times sacked in a game. But yeah lets talk about what he did as a game manager at the best college in the country. What a joke.
