I was never happy with that hiring anyways, I mean Dolphins fans were GLAD to see him go and cheered when the jets hired him.....that should have registered ill omens.
Nor is here TAnny stays, if Woody wants to open the purse, Tanny goes back to the cap and Polian comes in as head of football operations.
Dolphins fans did not watch their top 5 pick get ruined by Schotty. This year has been the victim of injury and mishap.... You lost the best defender in football, and your best player on offense....and you are finishing near 500.
If anyone thinks that a reputable / good GM will come here and A) keep Tanny on B) not want total control ( this means moving the entire circus out of town , replacing everyone with their own people ) including Rex If they hire from within or put some comical restrictions on the hiring then be prepared for more of the same,,,,,,we need change from top to bottom ! In keeping with the thread,,,,has Sporano been fired yet
Teams lose players to injuries, part of the game. The good ones don't fold altogether like a tent. While being knocked down a notch, they nevertheless find a way to get to, say, 9-7. Over 1/3 of this team's games (6 of 15) involved scoring 10 or fewer points. That is pathetic, period. - 10 vs. Steelers (with our 'best' offfensive player playing, and Pitt with TWO of their best defensive players missing). - ZERO points vs SF, a game our 'best' offensive player played into the 2nd half before getting injured. - 9 points vs Mia - 7 points vs Sea - 7 points vs Arz. 7-6??!! What team in the NFL (outside of playing in a storm) wins a game 7-6? A team with a shit offense, that's who. - 10 points vs TN, a 4-9 team. Pathetic. The Tebow package, pathetic. Tannenbaum's inability to secure talent, pathetic. The ef'in Oregon Ducks are more fun to watch than this stagnant bunch.
Dude, hill Keller and Holmes missed parts or all of the season. Stop repeating what you read in the paper. The first year of a new offense, you lose your veteran starter at WR, then your pass catching TE, then your draft pick...then you are throwing to Mardy Gilyard, and Clyde Gates, and Jeff Reuhland....
" Per La Canfora, GM Mike Tannenbaum is Sparano's biggest supporter inside the Jets' organization" The quote above is interesting because everyone assumed Rex was Tony's biggest supporter, but I guess not
as bad as he has been, before sporano is out the door, the idiot with the guaranteed contracts should get fired first! fire the bean-counter!!!!!!!!
Tony is being let go. Tanny is taking the hit and will be moved to a new position. Mark and Rex will stay. The new GM will not have alot of power.
if i am polihan, firing the bean -counter is one of my demands in order to take the job in the first place. and, that is non-negotiable.
Tannenbaum gets a lot of his football opinions through Bill Parcells. Sparano is a Parcells guy. There's a clear connection. Rex's reasons for liking Sparano were always pretty dubious: "He's like me.", "I hated him when he was in Miami", etc. Nothing genuine.
Ive been thinking more and more about Norv Turner replacing Tony Sparano and it had me thinking that it might be a bad idea. Phillip Rivers has regressed almost as bad as Mark Sanchez and is second behind him with 47 turnovers in 2 years. Rivers was considered one of the best QB's in the league at one point and now isn't even in the top 15. I don't know maybe im wrong but Norv just looks like a loser. I was all for him but I think im changing my mind. Norv has had success in the past as a head coach and OC so maybe he would work. I don't fucking know anymore maybe Jason Garret might get fired if the Cowboys lose to the Redskins ,and we could bring him in as OC or atleast try to
Keller is the biggest pussy ever. Besides Mark, I can't think of another Jet that I want gone more than him.
The biggest mistake besides not firing Tanny would be to demote him to another position... God this organization is full of idiots.
No disagreement there. I didn't like Keller from the time he was picked. Cumberland is more versatile, and provides more bang for the buck.
I like Cumberland but much like Keller he has that fragile handle with care tag on him,,,,the guy is unlucky healthwise
