Sparano is NOT a scapegoat. Schotty was to a degree but this is different. Sparano will be fired because Sparano sucks at his job. He will not be fired to bear the brunt of the blame. It's no foregone conclusion that Tanny will be retained at any position and if he is, it will be a demotion. I'm also not convinced Mark is staying.
Let's be real. Sparano inherited an absolute shit depth chart. It was a perfect storm of suck age. His job was directly tied to Mark Samchez's performance and that's why he will be fired. Sparano didn't do a good job and his gameplan @TEN sucked, but he inherited a fucking mess.
That would pretty much end the Sanchez run in NY. They couldn't possibly ask the worse QB in the NFL to learn his third new offense in as many years.
I'll say it again. If Sparano is fired he will be fired because he sucks at his job and did a horrible job to boot. It won't be to blame him and relieve others of responsibility. It will flat out be because Sparano did not meet expectations. If Tanny keeps his job that's a separate issue that has nothing to do with Sparano what so ever.
Sarcasm my friend. The issues with the offense had nothing to do w/ Sparano but lack of talent, pressing QB and a HC that prefers his defense to win games. We've complained for years about not taking shots downfield. Sparano comes in and takes regular shots and he gets the blame for a QB that can't complete those passes and WRs that can't get open.
I just don't buy in to the fact that hes a sacrificial lamb. It's not that type of scenario. He will be fired because he produced a shitty product. Not to spare other parts. I don't see Tanny or most of the offensive staff keeping their jobs. If Tanny does keep his job its not tied to this firing. It's because Woody has a puppet.
I want someone to tell exactly what was wrong the actual plays drawn up and called by Sparano. With Schitty I had specific and countless examples of ill conceived plays and/or poorly timed play calls; I can't say the same about Sparano. Mind you I will not shed a tear that he is gone, but I do feel he is being used a scapegoat. And I agree with whoever wrote that this means there is no salvaging Sanchez. 3 OCs in as many years usually means the final nail in the coffin. Now as far as replacements, I would a coordinator with West Coast offense roots (e.g., Marty Mornhinweg).
Obviously there are problems with every unit of the offense, most of which can't be blamed on just Sparano, but I don't understand the reasoning behind removing the QB with a hot hand in the middle of a drive.
Its learning 2 offenses in 2 years. 3 years ago he already knew the offense. Sanchez isn't dumb he can learn the offense.
if our talent scout team stays put I will go postal. They need to go with Tanny, sparano and the whole OC staff
