what's crazy is when I checked 20 minutes before game time, coaches club tix were listed for $50 each, and there were A LOT of them at that price
Anyone going to call the jets today and wish them a Merry Xmas ? I might call them and I also might tell them to put me on the psl waiting list  Long time jet fans / season ticket holders know how bad things can get and have gotten in the past ! We all have eaten tickets in the parking lot or could not " give our tickets away " in years past . One of the reasons I did not buy a psl is the thought of all those times eating tix that cost over a hundred dollars apiece ( never mind the preseason games ) and now u attach a minimum $ 2500 psl to that ticket sand which ? 4 years ago things looked really good but we all knew how things can change,,,,but I have to be honest I never thought the bottom would fall out so fast and in the manor in which it did ! Go back and reread this thread it was all posted here at nauseom ,,,this thread predicted the end of the jet world in regards to psls and the new place. This thread was a lot like the Mayan calander only this shit has become reality ,,, this is in no way as bad as the kotite years but make no mistake this train wreck is bad .
I went yesterday with 3 others and had 2 extra tickets I couldnt give them away in the parking lot. This team has reached one of the all time lows in organization history. Feel bad for you guys with all that money invested in PSLs. Merry Christmas.
Well U have quite a short memory since before this season BEGAN I posted we would go 6-10. Naturally the NYJ fans like 314 & 227 flamed me & told me I need a shrink in so many words, Now that we are 6-9 it could turn out that I was 100% correct if they lose in icy Bflo this Sunday. I also said before the season began that we are on a sharp decline & that at the earliest it would take 5 years to be a true contender but most likely 7/10 years. I also said the RR will be gone at least as HC at the end of this season. So I guess U can say I was way, way, way ahead of the curve compared to others on this board who only see the NYJs thru very dark green glasses & delude them self into believing we are a good team
I have eaten so many tickets over the years I can't count. And like you, when the time came to make the PSL decision, I said to myself, "I'll be damned if I'm going to eat tickets and pay a PSL on top of that too." You're eating them both then. And my seats were beautiful Mezz, 5th Row, and under cover no less. The perfect seat... and still I ate them sometimes. But Coaches Club for $50? I mean, this is a new low. REALLY NEW LOW. It may be possible, if you are enough of a contrarian and have the balls... it may be possible to get Row Ones out of the Front Offive... that's how bad the defections will be (in the Upper Deck for sure) and maybe in some of the PSL Sections. But then again, there's always the lying. "No, sorry, nothing available in front of your current seats." Meanwhile a newbie calls up and gets them.
it will be interesting to see what happens after this season. remember they couldnt fill the place over the past 2 years so it should be fucking scary this year.
Ah U do remember I also said what U just posted about the UD BEFORE this past season even began. Naturally if U R so pissed @ the NYJs why even think of renewing since they will be in the crapper for the next 5/10 years so all U are doing is throwing bad money after worse money
I also had a few extras that I couldn't give away. Was able to get face for a spare parking pass however.
"Its the most wonderful time of year" Yeap, the names change and that's about it. Poor, poor Ti,, I feel so bad for you. Woody, you are a douche got signing this guy.@@@@@@@@@@@@@
The game on Sunday was depressing. Was more boring then preseason. I'd say 40% no shows. Guy who sits behind me every week wasn't there, guy next to us wasn't there. Very different atmosphere. At the tailgate one guy said he is considering dropping his tickets. I had to take the elevator upstairs because of my leg and another guy said he's dropping his seats and he was in I believe 301 and in the second row and said he just can't justify it. They need to slash all prices by $20 and get rid of preseasons if they want to fill it up next year.
For sure this is what they need to do as a minimum, to just maintain the number of STHers they currently have. But we know they won't. There won't be any lettup in sight, so I expect many more cancellations. That will lead to more advertising next spring with special offers od no preseasons and $50 seats for newbies, which will in turn spark more cancellations from guys like us who feel duped that we have to buy the preseasons and tickets at full face. And the downward spiral self-perpetuates into oblivion... cheap offers begat more cancellations, which begat more special offers for newbies, which begat cancallations, etc.
Since the people who rent my tix can now easily obtain there own seats in there own name I expect them to not renew my tix for next season in which case I will just allow them to lapse
8-8 was a rude awakening for any of the PSL buyers, especially if they were newbies with the Ryan "We'll kick their ass" stars in their eyes. They at least expected winning seasons and playoff contentions year after year for as long as they live, with at least 2-3 Superbowl appearances every decade. The bloom not only came off the rose, the roses rotted in their vase and gave off a terrible aroma. 8-8 is now 7-9 at best, with a very real possiblity of becoming 6-10. This is a disaster for anyone who set their expections based on Rex Ryan's comments during the PSL push. But the worst part is, there doesn't appear to be any one fix or limited number of fixes. STs is horrible, the O-line needs major work, our receivers are still a bunch of NFL drifters, picked up on the fly, and we don't have a QB controversy because we don't have a full-fledged QB. It looks like most of the team has to blow up, right on into the coaching staff. And we all know what that means. The only saving gerace is the Defense (which can be tweaked dor yet another season without blowing it up), but that's about it. 6-10 might be a good season from here on out, for at least the next 3-4 years.
So I see you are begin to come around to my way of thinking + what I posted before the 2012 season even began. Now how do U feel about those flames U sent my way when I posted before the 2012 season began that 6-10 was on the horizon. As for when they will contend again as I posted before the season began min 5 years more likely 7/10 years so IMHO you are still looking at the NYJs with green colored glasses & drinking way to much of the green koolade
Nobody knows what our record will be for the next few years. that's just ridiculous. We don't even know who the GM/Coach/QB will be. It could get worse before it gets better or maybe a quick turnaround. Champ was correct about this year, that's for sure. Now, he's gonna take the shovel and bury us for the next 5 years. Next week should be interesting, I don't think Woody can make a football decision on his own, he's gonna lean on someone. I hope its not Parcells, Romney or a bean counter.
Any time you are going to "rebuild" it takes years which we have been doing for the last 44 years & still have not got it right. Lets see how realistic you really are. Who will our QB be in 2013? Who will our LBers be in 2013? Who will our HC be in 2013? Who will our GM be in 2013? Who will be our game breaker in 2013? Who will be our RBs in 2013? As much as you despise hearing it due to your man love of the NYJs but the facts are they will need at least 5 years to be a elite contender again. My guess is however it will take 7/10 years to MAY BE accomplish that feat. Just think you will probably begin collecting SS & the NYJs will still not be again champions of the football world
Somehow this thread continuously goes off its original topic, which was the stadium and season tickets, to the topic of dark side.
It will be interesting to see what tactics the jets use to try and sell tickets next year. I cannot imagine what they will have to do to get people to want to go ? Will they bring in some big time gm or coach ? I mean even if they gave me the seats of my choice upstairs and free parking all year and free preseason I would still be out ! What a difference 4 years makes huh ? I honestly can not imagine any circumstance that I would want to get season tickets in the upper bowl / level,,,,amazing? 227 this post is yes somewhat dark sider but keeps with the thread.
