Are the Giants a circus and a laughing stock in the NFL?

No because they still have a franchise QB and a plan. They just really suck on defense, and they need another receiving threat either on the outside or at TE.

For the media, but I could care less...at least everyone could get off sucking the Giants' ****. Of course someone else would have to beat the Pats then.

Going to be pretty interesting to see how the broncos, texans, pats, and ravens square off. My favorite goes to the broncos though. They are the hot team.

Nope. If the Giants lose this game and Seattle wins tonight the Giants can still get in with help. If the Giants beat Philadelphia, Detroit beats Chicago, Green Bay beats Minnesota, and Washington beats Dallas, the Giants are in as the 6th seed, with Seattle the fifth seed.

Edit: Seattle losing tonight definitely helps the Giants, but only in 3 possible scenarios: they would get in with a win next week the way mentioned above, and also if Chicago, Green Bay, St. Louis and Washington win, Detroit, Green Bay, and St. Louis win, or Detroit, Minnesota, St. Louis, and Washington win.

soxxx: "Dallas goes down, they need major help now. Its over for them."

not if the giants lose today, the loss means nothing for dallas if the giants lose to the ravens, it all comes down to the redskins and if they win they're in.

Those are all likely outcomes, except Chicago losing to Detroit. And Forte may be injured. Anyway I also think SEattle could easily lose tonight. Things still look decent for the Giants to get in.

The Giants defense has just been awful.

Run right through the line for like 75 yards

They're all reasonable possibilities, but putting them all together means that the chances aren't too good. Even if you give the Giants a .8 probability of winning, Detroit .5, Green Bay .7, and Washington .7 (which I think are pretty generous for the Giants), the odds against all of them happening are about 4 to 1 (probability .196 of them all happening).

You're right, the Cowboys needed to win for the Giants to be eliminated. I forgot that part. Had Dallas won+Giants loss+Redskins win+Seattle win this week they would be out according to the scenarios I looked at.

The Giants cannot be eliminated today, but a Seattle win would take away some possible paths.

The Giants have a slim chance. They needed to win today was the bottom line.

My thoughts as well. Fuck the giants.

Hopefully the 49ers put the final nail in their coffin by beating Seattle tonight so the giants can't get in.

That said new England's getting put out by Denver in my opinion.

If you read this thread you can see that that is not true at all; the Giants cannot be eliminated tonight no matter what, and if you want things to be tougher for them, you want Seattle to win tonight, not San Francisco.

I rather have the 49ers beat Seattle regardless of the giants situation. That first round bye is needed the way green bays playing now.

I'll wait til all the official scenarios are shown on nfl.com but things have the potential to be very interesting for those wild card spots in the NFC.

So if I have this right, Redskins and Cowboys are playing for the NFC East?

I'm saying that if you want to make it harder for the Giants to get in the playoffs you want Seattle to win tonight; as we discussed, if that happens the only way they get in is if 4 things go their way (NYG>Phil & Det>Chi & GB>Min & Was>Dal). If San Francisco wins tonight the Giants get in a few other ways as well, increasing their chances.

Chancellor on SF with a HUGE hit on Davis. In real time, looked like an illegal hit partly because of the severity of the hit. In slow mo replay, looks like he might have gotten mostly chest but still got helmet which is a no-no
