The Giants have had way too many stinkers to be considered one of the top teams in the conference. Given their history that doesn't mean they can't do well in the postseason, but it's only that belief in their "clutchness" that would lead them to be favored, not their actual performance this year.
They've been the most inconsistent team in the NFL, but still better than Atlanta, and I'm pretty confident in saying the Giants would be favored if they had a rematch with Atlanta in the playoffs. http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/teameff Atlanta has had as many bad games as the Giants, really, but Atlanta has tended to get lucky and win. Meanwhile, the Giants have several wins more impressive than any of Atlanta's.
Marvin Lewis with a moronic decision 4th and 22, would've been about a 50 yarder, and it's not windy in Pitt today. Announcers said 50-55 was no problem in pregame Lewis has the offense go for it
blatant tanking. I don't know else to interpret it when a coach is trying to lose. here's the play by play. It came right after Indy scored a TD to go up 7. They ran it into the line twice. I guess KC was trying to run the clock out to make sure Indy didn't find a way to blow the game. First the returner costs them 10 yards by returning it from deep in the end zone, and then... IND 20 KC 13, Plays: 13 Yards: 73 Possession: 6:05. Indianapolis Colts at 04:08 A.Vinatieri kicks 71 yards from IND 35 to KC -6. D.Wylie to KC 10 for 16 yards (L.Brazill). Kansas City Chiefs at 04:03 1-10-KC10 (4:03) B.Quinn pass incomplete short right to S.Maneri. 2-10-KC10 (4:00) J.Charles up the middle to KC 12 for 2 yards (J.Lefeged; J.Freeman). 3-8-KC12 (3:17) (Shotgun) P.Hillis right end to KC 10 for -2 yards (J.Hughes). 4-10-KC10 (2:39) D.Colquitt punts 53 yards to IND 37, Center-T.Gafford, fair catch by T.Hilton.
That plus Jamaal Charles had 200 yards plus and he's their best chance to win instead of Brady Quinn throwing lol...but yeah at least pitch it outside to him or dump it off, get him in space. Looking at the boxscore, Peyton Hillis had 100+ too, jesus...350 yards rushing and they only get 13 points? Brady Quinn doesn't belong in the league.
Take that back, if Giants lose then Cowboys vs Redskins is for the division. I thought it was determined by conference record, but its by common games which the Cowboys apparently have the edge in.
Yeah but Baltimore fumbled it also and giants recovered which would give the Giants a first down. Refs blew it either way.
