Oh Tanny should be gone without a doubt. He used to be good with the salary cap, but he's the one who got the Jets into this $$$ mess with Sanchez by giving him that ridiculous extension. Also, his recent drafts speak for themselves.
Money talks, bullshit walks. If you pay them, they'll come, especially in NY. In any. Ase, the people we have now are not getting it done, so what's to lose?
Years of what we've already been through. I want to see some continuity with genuine young talent and see it nurtured and grow. I'm sure we'd all settle for a SB after a new regime comes in and takes 3 - 4 years to get there. If I'm honest I'm lost as to where to start, and am not sure firing folks on sight is the way to go.
Hey you know what? Napoleon lost at Waterloo. What does that have to do with this? Its ancient history, just like the two fuckin afc championship losses. I'm sick of hearing about them. The patriots sucked when belichek took over, and got steadily better. That what's supposed to happen when a head coach is good. The Jets have gotten steadily worse. So enough with that shit already.
I personally like Rex.... I think he deserves another year, with a new GM who knows what he's doing. I just don't see anyone out there that's worth overpaying for at this point.
he took the Jets to two AFC Championship games with the talent he inherited from the previous regime.
My opinion is that: - GM that shows some success should get at least 2 HC - HC that shows some success should get at least 2 starting QB So I'm in agreement with you Rex deserves another shot.
Wait if the two AFC championships are history, wouldn't Cowher's ring and Gruden's ring be really ancient? Why are you advocating them then by propping up their ancient achievements? Just curious Also Cowher who is considered a good head coach actually got worse before bouncing back. So did Bill B, Tom Couglin, Tony Dungy, Tomlin is currently worse, Marvin Lewis was until the last two years. Just saying if that's you basis, none of those coaches should be still hired.
If we clean house, I really think the majority of the FO is gone, Tanny, Bradway, and everybody else. A new front office means no more Rex and his defense. Which means an entirely new system that will be different than the talent on the field. I hope you are willing to wait another 3-4 years for our team to progress. Might as well trade Revis and Harris for the draft picks. I don't see the point of keeping him on a rebuilding team. I'm willing to give it one more year for a few reasons. One I don't think there are many talented coaches out there that are better than Rex this offseason that will want to coach the Jets. Two, we have a promising young d-line on this team that will dominate next year in Rex's system. Three, since the shit really hit the fan this year, there is no more delusion in thinking our offense is anything but among the worst in the league. Tanny and Rex really need to address this, after what seems like 2 seasons of being in denial. If these two get the opportunity to stay, they will likely be putting together the team that will determine the rest of their careers, I would think they will take a more realistic approach.
Negative, all those guys have genuine success in the nfl, they have won CHAMPIONSHIPS. Ryan has won NOTHING, and his team is in free fall. Bad comparison.
Oh yeah a complete reset means we lose our defense. It's going to regress big time and the offense is still going to suck.
Not surprisingly, Petro, you are the only one to attempt to finish the sentence. And you finish it correctly.
Remember now, the new normal is shooting for the Wild Card every season. That's why they love Rex Ryan. Rex gives us the best shot to be decent every season. Not great, just decent. Woody is fine with that.
Wild card, division it doesn't matter. Once you're in the playoffs, you're in. Your record doesn't matter.
