I'm really getting sick of hearing that on here and in the media. The Jets where not unfair to him at all. Did they promise him a starting job? NO. Did they promise him to be the back up? Yes. Wasn't he the back up in most of the games? Yes he was. Do the Jets feel Tebow is there future? No they don't. So now that they are out of the playoffs and want to see what McElroy is about that unfair to Tebow? The Jets don't owe Tebow a damn thing but to make sure he gets his check each week. I didn't see anybody crying the Jets where unfair to Drew Stanton when they sign him and then traded for Tebow and said he would be the back up. So please go cry somewhere else about being unfair or lied to Tebow. It the NFL ALL teams lie and are unfair it part of the business.
That has to be media driven because no sane fan of Tebow would want him to start for the jets these last two games . Now they did not have any package blah blah blah that Rex spoke about and it was all a waste of time and wasting a year for him was an unfair . The jets should never have traded for him . So It's unfair from that stand point and it's unfair Tebow was so stupid to choose new York .
That where I think ur wrong. I think just about all Tebow fans would like to see him play these last 2 games. Just so they can watch him play.
Not only do I not want to see him play another down for this pathetic organization, I dont even want to see him active and wearing the uniform on the sidelines. Jags season tix inc...
It wouldn't surprise me if tebots thought the Jets were unfair to Tebow. That's pretty typical of their line of thinking.
I am a Tebow fan. I don't want to see him dressed up for the last two games. Why bother? The play design is painful to watch.
the Jets were "unfair" to him just by trading for him, because it wasted his time. if you pick up Tebow, you need to be willing to implementing an option offense. that is his only value. the Jets were never going to do that.
Unfair? Maybe. Dishonest? Probably. But, as usual, you assume what we think before we say it, then hold us accountable for what you think we will say. But to keep it real, there are a lot of Jets fans and other non-Tebow fans who think he got screwed. I don't want to see him start, and I've said as much. There's no point in it since he's going to be released. I think most of the Tebow crowd here (all 5 of us left) have said that they might as well see what McElroy's got if Tebow will be gone. In summary.... you're wrong.
I'm actually really curious to find out the truth about this. At what point did the Jets realize and decide Tebow was a bad move? It wasn't like they disguised this, Tebow was blatantly overlooked all year.
1) I think one of you is talking about the entire season whereas the other is talking about the last 2 games of the season. 2) You can't conclude with "you're wrong" when you don't actually refute anything.
The only thing that I've read/found is that he looked worse in practice than they originally thought he would (and he didn't improve) whereas McElroy continued to improve in practice from the time Tebow was acquired up to now.
There it is then. They screwed him because he didn't improve. No that not a good reason when ur talking about Tebow.
They should have never traded for him. But if you want to say he wasn't given a fair shot, yeah defnitely. But in football, players rarely are. I could say the Jets were unfair to Sanchez and it would be true, but that doesn't excuse hes bad
I think he was brought in to run the wildcat. It was never a competition. Mark was always going to be the starter. They thought that Tebow could come in have a few exciting plays, draw media attention, and sell some PSL's. In order for this to work Mark would have had to play well. They weren't going to put Tebow in, and let him do something fans could rally behind, when Sanchez was playing so poorly. Therefore they had to limit Tebow's use. I don't believe it ever occurred to them that Sanchez would play so poorly this year. Tebow was never viewed as a replacement to Sanchez. Sanchez is their guy, and he will be starting next year as well. That would explain all the strange decisions this season. JMO
