No, they don't want to put the game on a QB's shoulder who has played one half of football. Did people really expect we would come out and throw the ball 40+ times with a QB who hasn't started a game yet?
They're 6-8 and they're letting a WR who has thrown 'one' pass in the NFL sling it around. I don't think McElroy's thrown a ball since like the first quarter other than one or two dumpoffs. Part of the problem though is this overrated, garbage OL that let him get sacked twice on the first series.
He's dropped back 18 times to pass, 3 runs and 5 sacks. There have been chances, he just hasn't thrown it Now 19 times with 3 runs and 6 sacks
