Why are people so against Vick? With the way Rex wants to "ground and pound" that would actually make Vick an effective QB. He wouldn't be asked to drop back as much and not to mention that the Jets have a better o line than the Eagles. I think he could be effective with the Jets.

Because he turns it over as much as sanchez and can't stay healthy. The Eagles also have much better offensive skill players.

Vick is simply a smarter, faster version of Tebow with an actual NFL arm. How did that work out?

I've got similar thoughts. Would love to unload Sanchez but not if it forces Jets to give up picks. Jets have too many holes to simply give draft selections away. Just gonna have to keep Sanchez for one more season as a backup.

QB position will still be troubled, but if Jets go BPA then at least they'll plug in some other holes that improves team.

This has probably been asked somewhere but is it a definite that Tebow is left to walk? I'm thinking it could be genius to have a Tebow + Vick + Some other runnning QB we pickup with a 7th round pick.

Basically you retool your whole offense around these guys and the option. If one gets hurt the other just plugs right in. You could even interchange them througout the game to keep them fresh. It would be a departure from the standard in the NFL but couldn't it work?

No longter need to care about an injury ruining your season. You can focus on your ground and pound identity. No need to go out and draft any WR, we could focus on our O-line with our first 3 picks.

Its never been tried before has it?

No... because its a bad idea. You cant take two bad QB's and expect them to become one competent starter. Look at this year. Tebow is horrible and I wouldnt be surprised if he was out of the league in a year or two. Vick had one amazing year in 2010 and 2011-2012 he has been shit- getting hurt constantly and turning the ball over as much as Sanchez.

No solution to this offense would involve either one of them.

With an emphasis on running the ball wouldn't that decrease his chance for injuries? Plus he'd be asked to throw less which decreases his chance for turnovers.

He had one of the best running backs in the league behind him and what would he have when he came here?... Bilal Powell? Why would anything change here with a much worse running game?

If the Jets did Tebow one favor it was putting him on special teams. Tebow could stay in the nfl if he wanted as a special teamer and emergency QB. If he will actually do that is another story.

    1. Andy Reid hardly ran the ball

    2. The run game might be upgraded next season and it's not like the combo of Greene and Powell are terrible.

Lesean McCoy had 285 carries last year and 50 receptions. He had 210 carries in 2010 and 80 receptions. Mike Vick averaged about 400 pass attempts in 2010-11 and Sanchez averaged about 525 so saying

Thats not too bad, and you add in the fact that the Eagles are the best screen team in football (which essentially a run) and we are not talking about a big difference. Mike Vick has never played 16 games and was one of the worst QBs in the NFL this year.

The Ealges OL was pretty decent in 2010 and 2011 and Vick still managed to get hurt. Mike Vick averaged about 400 pass attempts in 2010-11 and Sanchez averaged about 525 so saying that he will pass less isnt that true because the Jets are one of the most conservative passing teams.

Unfortunately, I think that's where were headed - Jets fans.

They'll fire Sparano, but keep Rex, Tannenbaum is 50/50. They'll release Tebow and some of the vets, do some cap restructuring and next fall we'll see Michael Vick as our starter with Sanchez as his backup. Still dominating the headlines and another year of bad football in the name of "continuity"

Might as well try warming up to it now because that's what Woody Johnson does.

I mean, next year is going to be bad year with or without continuity.

I think Seattle would not want Sanchez as part of any trade. They would want picks though. The Seahawks will need to trade Flynn after the season for cap purposes if nothing else. He is being payed quite a lot to be a backup.

I wouldn't mind Hasselbeck, Vick, Moore, or maybe even Garrard. We just need somebody who could fill in for 2-3 years then give it to McElroy/draft pick unless McElroy shows us something in these last two games and in the preseason next year.
