I would really, really, really love him off the team. But, unless someone has magical contract restructuring skills, he should still be here as a backup. I wouldn't even think about starting him. I have the feeling that is the sentiment of the organization as well.
Sanchez scheduled to make $12m next year. McElroy $500k The QB position is allocated $12.5m +(third stringer min) Sanchez will have to suck it up & ride the bench $12m is a good consolation prize
who the hell is voting for him as a backup?? why would you want this turd on your team? all he does is lose. he hasn't developed in 4 years, what makes you think he'll do any better by sitting on the bench?
sanchez has to be paying someone millions how has he possibly got this contract .. The whole franchise stinks anyone buying tickets to watch the shit next year needs help ..
I want him as a backup because, although he obviously can't return as the starter, I don't want the Jets to nuke their cap by cutting him. Bring in a Jason Campbell/Matt Moore type, and let him, McElroy and Sanchez hold an honest competition for the starting job in training camp.
Is it possible to trade him and have the team who gets him agree to pay half of remainder of his contract? Not that the Jets would ever cut their losses, they'd rather ride things out to the bitter end until he has no value. Like the way they did with Wayne Hunter. I could see Sanchez working out in a small market team like the Cardinals. I mean any QB would be an upgrade to what they have, even Sanchez.
FTFY. Sanchez has proven in four years that he is not the best guy for the job. Give someone else a chance.
What a minute..... that's the Jets. Damn, maybe he does belong here. Nah. Go away Mark, let's try sending him to Jacksonville.
I don't think they'll cut him. However, if the Jets did have the balls to do it, I'd be thoroughly impressed.
