whats worse, missing the playoffs or being crucified by teh media(which is happening anyway)

if mcelroy is your guy as a backup, use him. if we stuck with sanchez for political reasons, that is unacceptable and he should be fired.

Rex didn't do a QB change at that time because he and Tanny would have to answer tough questions on why in the world did they give a scrub Sanchez a contract extension. Now this topic is front and center and Tanny is getting reamed in the press, and maybe Woody might be reading about it and finally waking up from his stupor and realize his GM is a joke. And if McElroy ever shines, Rex would look even worse for waiting so long and Tanny have to open his check book for McElroy if he is more than just a backup, another situation Tanny wants to avoid now having blown so much cap $$ on a loser like Sanchez. Those are the reasons why Rex and Tanny rode to the bottom of the pit till the very end with Sanchez.

right, but thats my point. have some balls and go with mcelroy if your not ok with tebow starting.

sticking with sanchez and letting him crap away our seasons was the worst possible decision

Making the playoffs would have given us a false sense of security.

As I said, I seriously think Rex trusted Sanchez enough to not shit the bed against bad to very bad teams with bad defenses. Tennessee does not have a good defense. Sanchez really should have been able to air it out with little to no problem. He should not have had four interceptions and over, under, and flat out missed throws galore.

Rex has a great defensive mind. There should have been a Thanksgiving night score with all of the turnovers Sanchez had.

Regarding Tebow, I don't think this is all that difficult to understand. The Jets would have had to install a totally different O to have TT be the starting Qb. Meanwhile they were already installing a new O with Sparano being the new OC, along with adding some wildcat plays for TT.

Given that situation, and that McElroy can be plugged in quite easily to this O, it makes complete sense to me that all along there was no real intention to change Muck out for TT.

McElroy showed in the Cards game he can at least run this O. Plus it's clear by now that TT will not be back next year. Instead put in GM and see what he can do.

For once they are doing something that makes sense. It does not make up for all past sins. But at least it is not another sin.
