Lol. Is there going to be a ceremony? I think we should be honored at halftime of the last game. Maybe they can pass out tomatoes to the Jets fans to throw at us.

The move was a disaster from the beginning. His presence magnified the media scrutiny of Sanchez and the entire team, occupied salarcy cap space, arguably distracted the team from it's greater needs, and prevented the Jets from bringing in a servicable backup QB. Either Tebow's lockerroom presence is grossly overrated or Woody Johnson lied to him and told him he'd actually have a shot at playing QB here.

This does not support your earlier claim that Tebow, himself, was the #1 reason the Jets season was a failure, or that he is not a humble teammate. It seems that you are suggesting that Tebow's presence was a distraction, through no fault of his own. If McElroy is seen as a serviceable back up, then that particular point does not have any merit, since they don't need to bring one in. That is assuming for argument's sake that you feel Tebow is not a serviceable back up. Tebow's locker room presence, no matter how great or poor it was is not enough to overcome the serious issues the Jets had in all facets of the organization.

The #1 reason for the Jets failure this season was Mike Tannenbaum. The #2 Reason was Rex Ryan. The #3 reason was Mark Sanchez. The #4 reason was Tony Sparano. The #4 reason was the injuries. The distraction caused by Tim Tebow's presence is probably around reason #8 or #9.

I actually think they extended his career by a year, he probably would have been cut by the broncos and would be at a church some where by now if MT was not such a terrible GM.

He probably would have been starting in Jax. Tebow made a critical error by asking to come to the Jets.

Of course it's possible with this team. The team that appears as if advance scouting, or any type of scouting for that matter, is something in the distant future that hasn't yet been invented.

If that truly is the reason, then we're way worse off than any of us thought.

This sh*t will damage Jets' ability to lure FAs, or sign high profile rookies in the future. Players will not take the management's words for the face value.

Doubt it. Nobody besides Tim Tebow's family and fans takes what happens to Tim Tebow seriously.

WWHHHHAAAAA like a bunch of little children. Ever watch Hard Knocks? No NFL player deserves any more than he can deliver right then and there. Thems the breaks as they say. Dude needs to spend the offseason getting his shit together NFL wise or go he'll be doing church speaking tours a couple years early. Peyton Manning , Brett Favre, Thurmon Thomas, Bruce Smith, Emmitt Smith and about a thousand other Super Bowl or HOF caliber players were badly treated released or traded off for pennies by their teams. Why does he deserve any different?

What a moron! You actually think, 1. a competetive professional athlete would actually step aside and say I'm willing to settle for being a bigger pussy than Sanchez and not compete with him and 2. This would actually score props with you!!!????

Your moronic belief proves only one thing - you're an even bigger pussy than Sanchez. (unless you are longtimejetsfan or royaltee whose moronic statements make them slightly even bigger pussies than you as hard as that is to believe)

Showing just how classy a guy you are LTJF>

From all reports, Tebow did all he could to try and help the Jets win in whatever way he could.

Now, I'm not the kumbaya type who believes that everyone should get a shiny trophy for participation, but a simple "thanks for the effort" and some common fucking courtesy isn't too much to ask.

Has to be. The main reason he chose here over Jacksonville is because they guaranteed him substantial playing time and a chance to start. Which turned into one play here and there a game and punt protection.

Opportunity cost not causal, yes he was the #1 reason.

    1) Why did Tanny stop making roster moves? Would you like me to amend my earlier post to "everything about and surrounding Tebow"? It's a fact that Tebow dissuaded the front office from further upgrading the roster when Tebow himself was only an upgrade for this team on ST. Tebow is a serviceable backup read option QB, or whatever else you want to call him, but he's not a serviceable backup QB that's already been discussed and proven. Tebow's #1 selling point was that "no lockerroom is too fractured for Tim Tebow, just wait and see he'll make Santonio Holmes work harder!". The excuses are shifting.
    2) Serviceable backup other than McElroy was clearly my implication.
