http://espn.go.com/espnradio/newyork/play For once, I really want to hear what Rex has to say for himself about this situation. 1715hrs Eastern (5:15pm)
This is sad. Rex says he's going with McElroy from what he sees in practice and during the Arizona game. Kay says it doesn't make any sense that McElroy wasn't activated yesterday and Rex has no answer other than he doesn't want to look backward. Rex's losing his last shreds of credibility fast.
-Passed on the "why McElroy over Tebow" with his usual "its my decision". -Reason for 6 wr's: Gates concussion and Edwards perhaps not playing entire game due to injury - No explanation for not suiting up McElroy yesterday. - Mark gives us the best chance to win but is making the change for the sake of making the change. For the good of the team. Kay isn't letting Rex off the hook at all. Kudos to Kay for keeping the heat on Rex.
This is painful to listen to. It's like listening to my 4 year old niece explain why she's randomly eating soap (which happened last week).
Rex doesn't really need to answer about the whole Tebow nonsense. I can see his rationale for dressing 6 WRs with Gates and Edwards. Still puzzling that he didn't dress Greg, but eh. Honestly, I don't think Sanchez is staying here next year. Rex literally had nothing positive to say about Sanchez in the interview so far.
Yeah it's hard to listen too. If Rex was being really candid he'd say all his options at QB and most at WR sucked and he went long on WR's so he could switch them around to get other options if necessary.
Rex made a good point just now. Even with the whole 'rhythm' thing, Sanchez had MORE than enough opportunities to get a touchdown. That's really all that needs to be said about last night.
He's not going to bash players on his team. we should all know this by now. So he's not going to rip into Sanchez, or state that he doesn't believe Tebow can start effectively. instead, he's going with 'it's my decision' on McElroy. I'm fine with that. It is his decision, and the right one. Just wish he made it 3 weeks ago.
He's done a good job of not getting baited. Rex two years ago would have definitely said something he'd regret by now.
Very good interview thus far,,,,,,Kaye doing a good job,,,,,I like Rex but blow this thing up',,,,,,,,who cares about stats and that " communication has gotten better" we are 6 -8
