I don't doubt that McElroy is the future because the HC is not sking much out of the QB position, all they really want is for the QB to not give away the game, .... every week. They are not looking for a guy to come in and lead them to victories week in and week out. From McElroy's resume, it is clear that he has football smarts in the college game at least, we did not see that from Sanchez, and he was made a top 10 draft pick. I am hopefully optimistic that McElroy can step in and make intelligent reads, adjust his protection accordingly, hold onto the football, and make accurate short passes.

You should. I know I definitely will. We still have a non losing record to play for, and I think McElroy can get it done.

If he does that, the argument for keeping Sanchez will completely and totally disappear. We can probably bring in Matt Flynn/Matt Moore and have McElroy as a backup.

Ask Sanchez to restructure his contract (which, if he had ethics, he should) and we're not a 2 win team next year.

How bad is it in the Tebowmania forum? I'm afraid to poke my head in there.

I feel like Hancock in the hospital after the one armed guy pumped him full of lead. The further Sanchez gets from under center, the more my heartbeat stabilizes. By the end of the game on Sunday I should be able to fly like a Jet again.
    .... AFT!!

But he won't restructure. He'll never get a contract like he has gotten this year again. Why would you agree to lose the money? They can threaten him with an release, but he still gets 8.soemthing million either way. Jets are in a lose-lose situation with him right now.

    Man its almost universally positive.

Wishing McElroy the best. He should start. I can list the reasons why in detail but am afraid to do it on this side of the forum, so Ill catch up with you in there.

Lets see what you got Greg. Im hoping for Pennington 2.0. Lets hope that he actually did improve his arm strength because that is the one thing holding him back.

It's really hard to do worse than Mark Sanchez has done lately.

The Jets offense isn't likely to be better with McElroy but as long as it doesn't turn the ball over consistently there's at least a chance the defense can win the game.

Not much going on -- lots of folks like yourself checking in to rejoice. But it is what it is.

If you say so. I just picked up San Deigo for my fantasy money league. Its for third place and my money back.

I guess maybe with a few more practices his number one WR will be more ready. LMAO! Nothing against the signing. We have ZERO weapons for any Qb to use.

I don't think it would be impossible to restructure Sanchez. Renew his contract for 3 yrs and change it to 3 million a yr guaranteed + percentage of snap escalators like tebows.

The jets benefit from 5 mill less cap hit

Sanchez benefits from 1 million extra dollars and if he starts it can be bumped up to regular starter wages.

This also makes Sanchez tradeable since im sure he wouldn't mind a change of scenery.

Picking up a 3 mill hit for an experienced QB that was in a bad situation might not be a bad choice for some teams, and alot more likely then someone dropping 8 million for him.

If this happens he will be happy for a fresh start and the jets will be happy off loading him.

hell hire me as GM that doesn't seem too hard. (hyperbole dont attack me for this lol)
