Rivers is worthless. He was living off the talent surrounding him over the years. Gates, LT, Sproles, Michael Turner, etc. SD was strong on defense as well.
yeah, the reason is that Eli didn't want to play in SD. so the Giants drafted Rivers and traded him to San Diego for Manning.
I'm saying Rivers because who really out there? The Jets will load up and try to make a strong run at SB next season since it at metlife.
This thread is insane. Revis for Rivers? I can't believe I just read that. Rivers is horrible! His footwork is sloppy and his accuracy is gone. He dumps it off to the RB more than any other QB in the league, the only throws he can make are jumpballs to Danario Alexander, and trust me its Alexander thats responsible for those hookups, not Rivers. He's past his prime, going downhill fast, and Norv Turner is going to be fired because of his stubborn obsession with playcalling thats trying to show off River's "arm". If you're gonna talk about bringing a vet QB in, at least start with someone who has a high completion percentage like Alex Smith. And if the Jets are thinking about making a strong push at the SB next year, then I'm afraid that's a pipe dream at this point so they better get their heads out of their asses real quick if the want to enter that discussion again anytime soon.
Don't you guys think the Jets need to stop trading for other people's garbage? The trades over the last 5 years have cost the Jets heavily in terms of depth. Just my opinion but you have to look at FA for the short term and drafting for the future. Matt Moore, Jason Campbell and Drew Stanton may be thebest alternatives. Flacco may be available but I don't see him as much of an upgrade over Sanchez.

Sanchez has 17 interceptions this year in 14 games Alex Smith has 20 interceptions in his last 36 GAMES nuff said, go for the game manager
Rivers is still better than Mark Sanchez. If we can trade him there for Rivers, then hell freaking yeah let's do it.
with the cap hit Sanchez will bring -- the question isn't who is out there it is who can they afford? Say at WR they have Holmes, Hill, Kerley - I would sign Edwards for a vet minimum and you have a nice corp and Edwards would be good for Hill to learn from. You want Revis back you can't dump a lot on a QB. Greene is gone - draft a RB. Keller is probably gone if he doesn't come cheap - look for a TE in the draft if not. draft the best OL in the draft with the 1st pick. You can find a legit QB in later rounds, but you have to get very lucky - Seattle and SF both are doing quite well with cheap draft picks.
Change in head coach and GM. Off the top of my head: Denver traded Jay Cutler. I can't think of any other teams that have traded a 30 year old or younger franchise QB unless he forced his way out. Teams historically have traded a 30+ year old franchise QB fairly frequently, usually after an injury and with a replacement in house.
Given they are the Jets, its one of the worst years imaginable to be looking for a QB replacement. If Tebow isn't in their plans next year, (and I dont think he is) then they need to let McElroy play out these last 2 games to evaluate what they have in him. Like someone said earlier, the Jets can be a successful team with the Ryan defense and a QB game manager. Lets see if McElroy is that guy. Then in the draft, select 2 QB's preferally Seniors with alot of game experience and high intelligence and good mechanics. Maybe we get lucky.
