Why isn't he suiting up McElroy for the backup QB?

I mean Sanchez was awful last night, he was awful against the Jags and AZ, they essentially benched Sanchez the 2nd half of the Jags game by simply not letting him throw it.

Sanchez was so awful last night with the season on the line he needed to be benched. But Rex had no one to go to, he clearly has no faith at all in the backup he had suited up so why the hell did he suit him up in the first place?

Any bets McElroy's statement about the team during the last offseason isn't playing a part in this...?

    This organization hates "talkers".

the Jets brain trust brought in Tebow to be the backup. As dumb a move as that was even the three stoges can see in person that the backup sucks even worse then Sanchez. Last night we got a little taste of just how bad our backup is.

Another telling part of last nights game which the Sanchez haters will ignore is that Braylon Edwards who should be out of football was the number 1 target of our starting QB who stared him down all night. What does that say about the job our GM, HC and OC have done to put a pro-offense on the field?

And while that doesn't mean Sanchez doesn't suck, I'm not convinced any QB could function with this dysfuntional managed team.

I'm not disagreeing that Tebow sucks, but my God you can't just make him third on the depth chart and suit up McElroy as the backup? Why can Pete Carroll bench Flynn eating his 10 mil salary and start his third string QB, Harbaugh can bench his QB with a 70% completion % and 104 rating to start his backup, but Rex can't move his backup to third on the depth chart? WTF cares what Tebow was brought in to do?

look who the head coach and OC is on this team and they were hired by a salary cap manager.

By the way Alex Smith sucks, he has been surrounded with huge talent and he sucks.

This GM and Coach are too proud to put in McElroy.

Too much pride and money invested in Sanchez.

The fact that McElroy wasn't dressed last night is a complete joke that demonstrates the fact that this organization needs to be overhauled.

Sanchez's terrible performance in the AZ game warranted benching but this one didn't? Why? Because Tebow sucks?

    I'm fed up.

Seriously man. They are a bunch of idiots.

These are tough decisions made by coaches who are willing to make those decisions. Our coach doesn't have the balls to dress a different Backup QB!

    What a joke

WTF are you talking about? Tebow was inserted at the wrong time. Nevertheless he picked up two first downs in total of 5 plays. That's not to say he is great, but definitely further from 'how bad our backup is'.

As you pointed out he was brought in at the wrong time a really dumb move and he absolutely blew chunks against the worst defensive team in football.

How can you tell so much from one freaking drive in a whole season? The sample size is too small. What's more, that drive has 5 plays, 17 yards. Started from own 20, and punted to opponents' 17. By no means this is 'blew chunks'.

Based on my expectations of an NFL QB running a pro-set Tebow was absolutely awful. Based 17 yadrs in 5 plays, a totally clueless look, no ability to make any adjustment, looked awkward throwing the ball away I guess you can argue for a Jets QB in 2012 he looked okay?

Do you know what type of heat Rex would take if he started McElroy over Tebow? How are you guys so blind? Its clear to me that Tebow was forced upon Rex, and if he put in Greg over Tebow he would be taking heat not only from many "fans" but from the big guy.

It's ok to throw ball away when nobody is open. That's about 1000 times better than a INT. I don't have access to coach's tape, so I don't know if he missed any read. Anyhow he didn't force the ball into triple coverage, he extended the play with his legs. And for god's sake, don't put him under center in a pro-set. Shotgun is not a new invention. Right?

What Jets fans actually want to see Tebow play QB? Who is this contingent of Jets fans? Florida graduates? Skip Bayless?

Even when Tebow is sitting on the bench, he is still the most popular Jet according to merchandise sale stats.
If he moves to another team, his new jersey will be top 3 again. There is nothing you can do about it.

Exactly. No other back up QB has 5 articles on NFL.com if he's probable to play.

Here what Tebow did out of the shotgun:

    Mcknight 11 yards
    Tebow 12 yards
    Tebow 1 yard
    Tebow -2 yards
    Delay of game -5 yards
    Incomplete
    Punt.

Do you see the trend there? Did you think he had any grasp of what he was doing? Do you actually see an NFL QB? Do you think there is a reason the Bronco's are actually good this year? Do you think there is a reason that Elway and Fox got his ass out of town for a 4th? He's not an NFL QB. He does nothing for us and should be gone.

Don't you think that all those people buying his shit would rage if their savior was skipped on the depth chart?
