Keep Rex, fire Tanny, bench Sanchez for 2013 and cut him afterwards and bring in Alex smith to be the transition qb. It's limitations to what he can do but he won't turn the ball over time and time again stupidly like Sanchez.
Are you fucking retarded? So you make Sanchez screw us even more by having him be the reason we lose Revis??
Tannenbaum ditched Jericho Cochery for Derrick Mason. He brought in Tebow and assured us they had 'secret plans' that couldn't be revealed in PreSeason games. He told us Schotty was coming back unless he got a HC job. This team's decisionmaking and lying at the top is getting on my nerves.
Geno Smith and Matt Barkley are the two top QBs coming out of the draft. Smith is ok from what I have seen him play in WVU and Barkley is just another complete overrated USC QB. I highly doubt Jets want to deal with either of these two. Jets can look at Landry Jones from Oklahoma University, who should be a top 2nd rounder or so
What? Not only does it make no sense for the Skins to take Sanchez, it makes even less sense to give up Revis for Cousins...Absolutely not.. Revis for Cousins, Orakpo and Garcon or a draft pick and I'd think about it.
I personally believe Revis is as good as gone after the 2013-14 season, and we have been ok without him. He is either going to demand a new contract this year or play it out with the option to walk after the season. Might as well help the team as much as possible, if possible.
yes, but by doing so you should get fair value in return. I'm hardly opposed to trading Revis this offseason, but Cousins is not fair value for Revis by any stretch of the imagination.
Jets need a starting QB, a starting RB and a couple of starting WRs. Best bet would be to trade Revis since he still has value. Sanchez needs to be shipped off - even if it means the team picking up a big chunk of his salary. The team will be a mess for quite a few years to come.
He's owed 8 million dollars. You cant just eat that, you have to try and get any possible ounce of production out of Mark. If he sits on the bench, then fine, but you cant just outright cut him, its not like hes a locker room cancer. There is not much hope at Mark being our future QB anymore, but you have to at least give it one more shot next year while hes owed this money.
I hate to say it but Sparano isnt going anywhere unless Rex is fired. Rex and him are too similar (style wise) for the Jets to fire him (even though they completely should). Tanny is definitely going to be fired or used in a lesser role next year, so that wont be an issue. Looking at Vet QBs for next year, the challenging part is actually finding a worthy one. Matt Moore seems like the best option, which is scary to me. Maybe Alex Smith could be available but I'd assume he'd go to somewhere he is guaranteed to start. And I know many will say "WELL OF COURSE HE'D START HERE", well my biggest fear is having Smith in here without that Dynamic run game he has in San Fran. I think once hes out as a 49er, we'll see some serious regression. I also get this strange feeling that we'd be stupid enough to trade a draft pick for Matt Flynn.
The problem with Sparano and Rex is they both believe in a form of offense that in today's NFL is a dinosaur. Todays passing rules make the passing game the dominate force in the NFL, if you can't pass you can't win. In today's NFL receivers aren't afraid to go middle crossing routes because they know they can't get hammered as they catch the ball without at least drawing a flag. Pass interference rules are almost to the point where if you just throw 3 passes 50 yards down field you're almost sure to get a PI or at least a defensive holding on one of the 3 passes. Okay that last part is a slight exaggeration, but only slight. the concept of ground and pound as a primary offensive focus just isn't that feasible.
Why keep Rex? I don't care how defensive-minded a coach is. If you can't see how atrocious your QB is you're NOT a good coach! And to not dress McElroy again??? Ridiculous. Oh and Rex's excuse was that he needed to dresss 6 receivers? He's an IDIOT. It's time for a full house-cleaning. Period.
Sounds about right (S.O.J.). Anyone know how much Matt Flynn would cost in 2013 after being traded to the Jets? On SEA his salary is $5.25 million in 2013 (Source: Rotoworld). And how much is Flynn worth? Hopefully nothing more than a second
Agreed... Tanny needs to go as he has NO football knowledge. Hopefully he stays in some other administrative role. We need guys who know about football, especially offensive football! Rex knows shit (about the O) and Cavanaugh preferred Palko to Flacco and sucked in his playing days...
