You cant put the draft stuff in the same category as the riggins cut or the sanchez extension.

the Draft is its only animal. all 32 teams can look back and say "crap we took that bust and 2 picks later someone grabbed a potentiall hall of famer"

obviously there are draft mistakes, and some teams draft better the others... but its still somewhat of an unknown.

riggins wasnt an unknown. sanchez isnt an unknown

what facts? every time we anyone posts the million stats that all show that sanchez is a terrible bottom 5 QB you change the subject and move on to sentimental crap and avoid the facts

the game is about winning, w/ mark we won 4 playoff games, reached 2 title games, have never finished below .500 and have a chance at a 3rd postseason in 4 years. He has sucked this year(for the first time sucked consistently) but he hasn't had any help w/ the injuries we have had. No QB is succeeding w/ the weapons he has had on a consistent basis.

watching kirk cousins succeeding with talent around him should let everyone know how important a supporting cast is. No one's gonna convince me that Cousins is more talented than Sanchez. Give Sanchez that Redskins squad and that's a title contender

Mark has been awful regardless of the situation.

He was bad with a good run game.
he was bad with a poor run game.
he was bad with good wideouts
he was bad with poor wideouts
    he was bad with schotty
    he was bad with sporano

wins are a team stat. we arent 7-7 right now because sanchez player well. we were 11-5 or 9-7 because sanchez played well those season. we wont those games because our defense was outstanding, we ran the ball well, and in some cases just played really bad teams.

the most telling stat, is that when sanchez doesnt throw the ball alot. we win. when he throws the ball alot, we lose.

15-4, 3-0 in the playoffs when mark throws 25 times or less.

17-23. 1-2 in the playoffs when mark throws more then 25 times.

Yes he played well in the playoff wins. fantastic. we still are only talking about 2 AFC divison wins and not 2 AFC championship wins or 2 superbowl wins. it is an accomplishment, but not good enough to keep your job when you have performed horribly for 4 seasons and havent gotten to or won a superbowl.

plenty of bad QBs have gotten to the AFC championship game. hell there is usually one every year or 2.

sanchez has had much better talent around him in the past then the redskins have now, and performed like a bottom 5 QB.

bottom 5 QB don't win 4 road playoff game and lead his team to BACK to BACK AFCG appearances

clarity and perspective man. that was the greatest two year STRETCH in the last 2 decades of this franchise and it's owed to Sanchez.

Sanchez led his team? I think Sanchez helped by making some big plays at opportune times and was assisted by an outstanding defense. To say the Jets "owe" Sanchez is a huge reach.

That's just not true, he was very good in 2010 w/ a medicore run game and up and down D.

1-2 when throwing more than 25 times b/c our D blew a double digit lead in Indy and we lost our only run threat in Shonn Greene then in Pitt our D was brutal in the 1st half, Sanchez brought us back w/in 5 needing one stop from the D which we never got.

Sanchez has proven he can play and can win big in this league. I don't worry about fantasy stats, the guy we'll face next week can keep the fantasy stats- I just want to win.

we don't make those title games w/o his quality play. The Jets don't owe Mark anything but an opportunity w/ some quality weapons around him again.

All QBs deserve to have the team support them with weapons, but that doesn't always happen. However, the Sanchez you are seeing now is not the same guy in 2009-10. His confidence is shot and when he gets back to Met Life, there will be hell to pay when he throws an Int. As I said before, Sanchez is done in New York.

if you don't think Sanchez was the leader of those 2 teams, as he is on this team, then you don't know about team sports and dynamics

the concept of leadership stems from the authority of the alpha male in gorilla troupes. the alpha male is the one that commands mating rights with all the females. think about that.

he's not the same guy, that's why we need to regian his confidence a bit as we close this season out then get a healthy Holmes back, see what Edwards has, bring back keller and bring in more help.

we can't worry about nitwit fans booing, they've booed Jeter, Rivera, Mantle, Namath, Simms and whoever else you can think of.

When QB's throw more than their typical mean in a game their team generally losses. Take the Bronco's as an example. Manning who averages 34 passes per game threw well over his mean in all 3 losses he threw 37, 52 and 44 times.

Teams that throw more than their mean are doing it because they are losing the game. That stat tells less about the QB and more about the score in a game.

The Jets are built to run the ball when we have to pass more then 25 times it's usually because we are behind.

Those nitwit fans fill that stadium and will be the first to boo when it starts going bad. Like it or not, Sanchez' physche can't handle that pretty much spelling out the end of his career in NY.

There isn't much of a path back for Sanchez at this point. Playing lights out down the stretch and through the playoffs is really the only way he regains his footing at this point.

If his contract for next season was not guaranteed it would be accepted wisdom at this point that the Jets were going to find a way of parting paths with him over the off-season. It's only the cap manipulation this last season that is going to get him a chance to play for the Jets next year. That unfortunately is an old story around here by now. We always have players just playing out the string these days with only their contracts preventing the Jets from cutting ties and moving on.

if he can't handle it then it will ruin him, QBs need to be mentally tough. Overall he has been but at times he hasn't been.

Are you Sanchez apologists still justifying how bad the guy is?

You must live in a bubble because any football person with a brain has already moved on past Sanchez lol.

The question for the Sanchez supporters is really...why are you backing a guy who is statistically and visually one of the worst starting QB's in the NFL?

He won 4 playoff games on the road and got to two AFC champ games but that was YEARS AGO.

Rex Grossman took his team further than Mark Sanchez ever did lol How did that turn out for Rex Grossman?

The argument that he did it in the past is so weak. You Sanchez supporters need to stop living in the past.

If you're a true Jets fan than you should be focused on the future of this team and who the future QB of this team is going to be.

I barely post here because it's laughable that you fools still think Mark Sanchez is a good starting QB in the NFL. If that's the case then you think that Rex Grossman is a good QB too because he took his team to a Super Bowl lol.

I guess you all think Trent Dilfer is a good QB too because he took his team further than Sanchez ever did, right?

The "resume" argument for Sanchez doesn't hold any water. This is a "what have you done for me lately" league and Sanchez hasn't done shit in this league in over 2 years.

I can't wait until the Jets cut his loser *ss after next season(if he's still here next year). It's just a shame that the Jets may still have this loser on the roster next year.

It only further slows down the development of this team.

By the way, the Jets are in the playoff hunt this year because of their defense and the fact that the AFC is way down this year. They are NOT in the playoff hunt because of Mark Sanchez. He has nothing to do with them being in the hunt. He has only hurt them, not helped them.

Rex Grossman won 2 HOME playoff games in a crappy NFC at the time where the 2 seed was a 10-6 team. He never won another playoff game. You obviously have no idea what you are watching if you think the 2 are comparable.

    "fantasy stats"

are you implying things like interceptions, incomplete passes, fumbles dont have a huge impact on the game?

and if you only want to go by wins and losses then how about this. sanchez is 7-9 in his last 16 starts. and one of those wins mcelroy secured for him.
