I was referring to this week, when Arizona was getting blown out at Seattle.

The fact that Sanchez supporters are pointing to Lindley, a rookie 6th round pick with 0 tds, 5 int, and a 42.6 lifetime qb rating, as proof that Sanchez deserves to be in the league is farcical.

It has to be both. I can see Sanchez being a good QB top 15 if he has decent talent around him. His 2010 receiver corps were very talented but one could argue the run game was amazing which it was but part of it was the Jets receivers. Sanchez can be a good QB in this league and he make the throws we know he can but is inconsistent. We have seen it from Sanchez, he just needs to do it on a consistent basis.

i am not defending sanchez but he is here for another season so we might as well try to win with him.

here's my question, how many qb's do you put on this roster and expect to win the s.b.?

Well if the example is CArdinals starting QB, I have to point to Lindley, right? And I wasn't even comparing play, we were discussing benching QBs

You are comparing John Skelton, whose home town University, University of Texas at El Paso, wouldn't offer him a scholarship, to Mark Sanchez... a young QB out of USC who has been to two AFC championship games in 3 years. You are losing it daily.

i absolutely agree. and if d.woody and faneca had been replaced with equal or just a slight downgrade of talent and holmes edwards and jcotch stay as the wr corp. don't you feel like he would have developed better?

Maybe marginally better. I don't think he was ever gonna be anything special either way.

I think Sanchez 2010 is basically his ceiling.

I think he would have developed better, but a lot of that falls on the coaches for not developing him correctly. If the Jets decide to part ways with Sanchez, the whole offensive coaching staff must go and the Jets MUST find a playmaking wide receiver. Oh yea, the scouting department should go too and Woody should stop beng a Jerry Jones, write the checks and shut up.

Well, we better hope that playmaking WR is Stephen Hill because with the gauranteed $$$ Holmes is gonna get, they won't allocate more big bucks to the WR position. We have too many other holes to fill.

maybe, probably. most qb's drafted never become anything. i just feel that this f.o./c.s. did everything exactly wrong to develope a young qb they invested so much in.
or tanny and rex differ in philosophy and tried to compromise to the point where both philsophies suffered to the point where we are stuck in mediocrity.

rex's idea of ground and pound is actually a high percentage idea of becoming a perenial p.o. team. it's easier to keep acquiring good palyers to fill a roster than it is to try to strike gold on the next elite qb that can bring you to the promise land.(unless your the colts). sanchez can be a player on that type of roster

LB is first. The Jets need to find that edge rusher they have been waiting years for. With Coples/Ellis/Wilk I'm excited for that. If the Jets get an edge rusher they can be monsters. Anyway, the Jets need to find that offensive playmaker. I hope Hill develops. He needs to polish his route running and he needs to catch the ball with his hands more. He looked a little bit improved in the Cards game. McElroy threw a relatively high pass and Hill went up at its highest point and snagged it just a like a 6'4 receiver should. He also caught every catchable pass thrown to him. Hopefully he continues to improve so he can become that matchup nightmare. Calvin came from Georgia Tech and look at him now, Demaryius Thomas came from Georgia Tech and look at him now. Now I'm not saying Hill will be like Calvin, but he has the physical tools to do so. Hopefully he can put it all together.

I agree with you 100% and am hopeful about Hill as well.

DT his first year was bad, he dropped balls many times before he ended up on IR. He was declared a bust by the Broncos fans. In the second year he didn't get going until Tebow became the QB and was a very productive receiver, and a very good blocker, though he had the dropsy problem still. Now he is a beast not just because of Peyton, because he is a better route runner and fixed his dropsy problem. So I think it will take 3 years for Hill before we can fully evaluate him.

When we drafted Hill we knew he was raw just like DT. Hopefully he pans out well.

No, probably not. His ceiling probably looks like one of Eli's average years counting the bad years in the average. Star QB, not. Good season at his peak? Most likely. Although not with the Jets at this point. He's burnt here.

Dude Defense and Running the ball got us to two AFC championship games, Stop acting like he carried the team and was the MVP of the season. Trent Dilfer won a superbowl Rex Grossman played in a Superbowl and look at there carrers and they aren't the only game managing scrubs who have done it Sanchez almost did it to
