Haha. Could've signed back Braylon (before he went to two different teams), Holmes, and Cromartie, and we probably wouldn't have lost Cotchery. *Sigh* What could have been.
Kerley should have made Holmes expendable. They play the same role and I'm not sure Holmes is any better than Kerley right now. Obviously Kerley was a 5th round pick and wasn't going to make that happen right away but it's amazing how similar the two of them are in terms of the play style AND performance. I'm not sure you can put the two of them on the field together effectively at this point. They both want the same space.
That all goes on Tanny poor managing. The Holmes contract is one of the sorriest in football, we traded a 5th for him. What did we end up trading for Bray? A 3rd and a 5th? Better all around target. Had we known Kerley would land in NYC we don't even need Holmes. Kerley, is a younger, faster, tougher receiver than Holmes. Dump UNO cero today! Trade him for a seventh, buy him a bus ticket and say "farewell!"
I would take him for more than the vet min, but not for as much as the Eagles offered him. One main thing is right about what you said, one doesn't become bad player overnight, talent wise. But through poor play design/play calling, one could go from stud to dud overnight.
The other day I was arguing with a Philly fan about who is better, Revis or Aso. I told him both Revis and Cro are better than Aso and he flipped a shit.
honestly even if he played well the signing would've been dumb as bricks. You don't use a 1st round pick and trade a 2nd round pick for one corner spot, just so you can sign someone else for a huge contract for that same spot.
