If anything the three stooges (Rex, tannenbaum, and woody) have in common is stubborn pride. They will sacrifice bettering the team if it means they protect their asses (keeping sanchez the starter over mcelroy is an example). Besides, Braylon bashed Jets ownership and front office. We have a better shot of bringing in Keyshawn Johnson than we do Braylon Edwards! I hope I am proved wrong but I'm just being realistic...I mean you guys do realize how delusionaln Rex is right? It's week 14 and "we're still getting better" according to Rex...
I'd say Braylon is a no risk scenario as well. The receivers on this team currently are terrible exception of Kerley. bring in a guy that liked being here, clicked with our inept QB, and pointed out what every fan thinks of mangement anyway. It makes too much sense, they won't do it.
Just a no brainer signing IMO. No risk. He's better than the garbage we're currently throwing out there now. He always had the best rapport with Mark out of anyone (save maybe Keller).
What's going to be great is IF Braylon comes in and produces good numbers, there will be a whole lot of ppl esp Jet fans saying I told u should've kept him. Front office will be grilled for not bringing Braylon earlier. I would love to see him play for us again but the front office usually disappoints.
The defense IS getting better. That's not just opinion, it's quantifiable. Funny seeing people who are treating a player who's been cut by two different teams as a savior describing anyone else as "delusional".
Is the defense really getting better, or are we just playing worse offenses? Theres a big difference. We played two good defensive games vs good offenses this season @ NE and vs Houston. Neither of which happened recently
The only hope that people have here is that Sanchez and Edwards had some chemistry in the past. Edwards isn't anywhere near where he was a few years ago. However, that doesn't mean he can't get back to that level. We'll see if it happens.
So, naturally, being self loathing Jet fans, we should assume that any thoughts of improvement are "delusions" brought on by playing lesser competition, right? Couldn't be that we've actually improved because of the emergence of Wilkerson and, to a lesser extent, Coples; Devito and Piouha being healthy; and the secondary developing some onfield chemistry after playing as a unit for 3/4 of a season. No, we're just a bad team beating up on teams that are truly awful.
We don't need him to be what he was 3 years ago. We need him to be better than Mardy Gilyard and Jordan White.
I never said the Jets didnt get better. You were the guy who said that our defense "unquestionably and quantifiably got better" Where I pointed out the obvious flaw that our last several games came against the worst talent in the league. 4th string runningbacks, 2nd 3rd, string qbs, castaway offensive cordinators who got fired from one of the worst offenses in the league. Is the defense better now than week 2 definitely in my opinion. However that doesnt mean that its fact.
neither here nor there, but i really like how kerley has evolved. good receiver. seems the jets grow the best possession receivers. cotch, chrebet, coles, kerley. alliteration too!
Good god.....guys, check out the SEPARATION that Braylon gets on some of those catches...he gets more space in 1 of his catches than all our WR's get in a month. Serious...check it out...how many times this year have you seen a WR as open as BE was in some of these shots ???
In the Rex Ryan era, the Jets vs the New England Patriots: Without Braylon Edwards: 1-4 With Braylon Edwards: 2-2
was listening to beningo with mike devito. devito let the cat out of the bag i think. he asked joe if edwards was official yet. jets also waived kahlil bell. something's happening
The guy I originally quoted said Rex was "delusional" for saying the team has improved. I agree, the numbers don't tell the entire story, but they can serve as a component for a reasonable argument that the team has improved, in some respects.
