Drew Brees had 6 Interceptions against the Falcons last week and at least 3 this week. Good QBs have bad games SOMETIMES. Sanchez is not a good QB. He has bad games MOST of the time.
He was talking about the Cardinals game. And yes, Sanchez was an abortion in that game. If you are referencing todays game, Sanchez certainly didn't have a "good" game. No TD's and a turnover. Just a little more than 100 yards passing. The rushing game won today.
How can anyone in a completely sober, thinking state of mind say Sanchez isn't a terrible quarterback. I literally cannot name three teams in this league who would take him over their current quarterback. Arizona. Kansas City is a huge maybe and honestly, that's it.
this offense with sancheese at the helm is just about unwatchable. that was the 32nd ranked defense in the league. the jets started drives on the positive side of the fifty 2 or 3 times and still didnt score points half the time. absolutely terrible and i honestly am coming to the point of not even caring to watch, its that unentertaining.
Good thing he only has one more home game. And honestly, if we are playing the Chargers for a chance to go 8-7 and potentially take a wildcard spot, I don't think many people will be caring about Sanchez.
Wait until he throws his first pick or takes his first strip sack in that game. You will see how many people care about Sanchez.
This guy has depreciated so much it's almost incomprehensible. Just watching the atrocious playcalling highlights just how much he poisons the entire offense. We're forced to hand off on 2nd and long, and throw dumpoffs on 3rd down, 6 yards behind the first down marker ... because we're terified to actually allow Sanchez to throw the ball anywhere where defenders actually occupy the field of play. Nothing brings the point home more than this: Until he hit Cumberland up the seam for a big gainer with a few minutes left in the game, Sanchez had thrown for a grand total of 71 yards in the game. Digest that for a second ... We're talking about a four year veteran starter ... the 5th pick in the draft. And we can't even trust him to be a servicable game manager. What an unmitigated disaster.
With the exception of a few elite teams, this is league wide. I wonder what the Lions are thinking of Stafford right now. Fumble for a TD and a pic... Oh but he was 14 of 17 for 100 plus yards.
Perfectly said.. It doesn't even make sens how bad he has gotten. It seems like he has no idea what he's doing, makes no sense. All reports from everyone around the jets, is that guy practices/studies hard. He just looks beyond awful at this point
Don't forget the defense coming up big twice in the RZ for us. This could have been an easy loss if not for that.
This really is the mystery of all of this. Despite what some people say, for the middle 35 games of his career (2009 playoffs through game 13 of 2011) he was an average QB who showed flashes of excellence. In his last 16 games, he has looked like he does not have even the slightest idea how to be an NFL QB. The change is absolutely bizarre.
I really thought he turned the corner in week 1 against Buffalo. He hasn't been right since the blow to the head in the week 2 Steeler game. Having Holmes and Keller out most of the season hasnt helped.
Not double standard... this is Sanchez's 4th season. And remember its not just this game. It has been all season. He has been inconsistency his entire career.
Yep he didn't look elite, but he looked like a Romo, Flacco, etc. Someone you could build around and win you a couple games. Leads me to believe it was FO problems than just he sucks. I think the hits caught up to him and he can't shake it. You can tell this year, he doesn't trust his wide receivers at all. He doesn't trust them to run the right route for some reason. I'm sure wide receivers don't trust him to put the ball on their numbers either. I feel like the dramatic fall off last year was the hits + trying to appease Plax/Tone within the offense. It made him hesistant and trying to force things. When they didn't get the ball, they didn't run their routes, so Sanchez had to look away from them. While Keller is a good target, he does disappear if a team gets physical with him. So then we go to this year, the Jets run game has rarely showed up and the QB/WR couldn't stay healthy all preseason to work on things. Obviously Sanchez has had it drilled in his head to not turn the ball over, so he hesistates now because he doesn't think the receivers are going to run the right routes and he doesn't want to throw picks. This leads to him kind of holding onto the ball and taking sacks. He doesn't feel the pressure, something he lost from those middle 35 games you mention. I'm not saying he was Romo or Big Ben in the pocket, but he was kind of like Eli in the regards he was mobile enough to aboid the first wave. Something happened somewhere like you said, and no idea what it is. Clearly this year, our offense anemic including and past the QB position. Right now our healthy receivers are Kerley,Schillen, Gilyard, White. Longest tenured WR on the team is Kerley who has probably played meaningful minutes in 19 games now (6 last year 13 this year). Now an elite QB would and could overcome things like this. This is what we were expecting as fans out of the #5 pick when we traded up. He is supposed to play like a top QB and not need all this help and development to this extent. However as fans we always want this, the FO cannot want and hope for this. They need to realistically look at the QB they have and not hope he becomes elite. That's what happened when he netered the league (forcing him into a game manager), that's what happened in year 2 offseason ridding Braylon/Cotch and Woody and Turner (via injury), and that's what happening now thinking he might be a viable option now and for the future. Now while I think Sanchez if placed on BAL or SF or even HOU can succeed, we don't have that type of team here. We need someone who carry more of the offensive load or a better coach who can create a better system. We seem not have either so we are where we are, probably searching for another QB this offseason and next offseason and maybe even the following offseaosn
I think if Tebow would have gone to 2 afc championship games his fanclub cult would never let go. They'd be riding it until he retires. We are barely a year separated from being 8-5 and going into Philly. But everyone acts like he has been akili smith. The criticism has been one sided and hypocritical. ever think that perhaps the playcalling isn't because Sanchez can hit a receiver? Rather its because none of wr's can get separation? solomon wilcots had a screenshot today that showed all 4 wr's fail to gain any separation. But everything falls on sanchez. I've never seen anything like it.
