I consider that off-season the worst in the Tannebaum era. One of the worst decision making off-seasons in a while as well. That off-season alone took us from SB contenders to not even making the playoffs at all. What a fall. Sign Braylon and Cromartie EARLY in the off-season, let Holmes walk. Cromartie's price drove up because we kept chasing Nnamdi. Dumb fucking mistakes.
That offseason was pretty much where it all started unraveling for the Jets. Showed Rex inability to plan long-term when building a team & it also showed lack of football experience in other places to stop organization from following through on his idiot request of Aso no matter what. Tanny's biggest failing is that Rex had way too much influence over that FA period. Many of the bad contracts Jets couldn't escape last year & this year are from this failed pursuit. Then they let Aso string them along forever & when Aso finally decides to go elsewhere, the Jets are left with only ONE CB on the market. If there was any chance of getting a hometown discount from Cro, the Jets surely blew it. Numerous bad decisions in that offseason have hurt this team for at least 2 seasons.
That off-season I think will hurt us a lot more than just 2 seasons. This will more than likely trickle down and affect everyone on the roster not named Mangold, Brick, Kerley, Coples, Wilkerson and a few others. Mark will be gone, more than likely Holmes will exit and we'll have to scrap the offensive "philosophy" and start anew AGAIN.
Braylon > Holmes. Holmes needs to go. But it really doesnt matter who is running down field if the opposing D is picking up a Sanchez fumble and skipping off to the endzone with it.
People absolutely forget about that, yet Sanchez has been completing over 50% of his passes after he got hurt.
He's been completing over 50% his entire career, so I wouldn't rest my head on that. He was near 70% in the Bills game and also in the Colts game. Sanchez and the team as a whole is better with Holmes playing. People just get all emotional and over react to the one bad thing that happened last year in the final game, plus a few comments that were accurate. People need to get over it, he's our best offensive playmaker, even if he does nothing he opens up all the other guys, ie like in the Buffalo game, Sanchez' best game of the year.
Since we signed him in Seattle he's been fairly pedestrian. He dropped a week 1 game winner in the end zone against division rival, Arizona. Since then he's either been injured or done nothing of note. He talked a bunch of trash heading into the San Fran TNF game (they cut him half way through last year) only to give up on several plays after claiming on twitter, "this isn't business, this is personal." I was jacked up for it, then he just didn't bring it. Last week, he was on twitter indicating he was proud Obama was president, pretty much because he's black. I called him out on his douchery. In short, I wouldn't worry. He'll play, but you're not missing anything special at this point in his career.
that's ridiculous. Holmes makes the offense better with his pressence. None of our other receivers are consistent enough.
Terrible move when it was cheap Lets do it now @OfficialBraylon great times & respect the fans & squad a lot. If its meant to be I will be jet nation once more
