Makes sense he knows the system and we need a backup. I'd rather have Henne than Tebow back there.

If you're rooting for us to lose, you have no business being a fan of this team. If you're rooting for Sanchez to turn the ball over, you're a piece of shit. If you're rooting for our D to give up points, you should take a joyride with Danny Heatley.

Why you would root for failure is beyond me. Could it happen? Yeah. But to root for it, is sickening and utterly despicable and shows that this fanbase is awful

Does this not confirm even more that Woody Johnson was the man behind the Tebow trade?

He played quite well vs Houston, fair vs TN, and supposedly shitty last week vs Buf. *

    * I watched the 1st 2, didn't see the Buff game as I was watching the JETS.

The only way change will come under this gutless leader we have (Woody, Rex, take your pick) is if this team LOSES, otherwise we'll be watching 7-9, 8-8 football with the "hope" of reaching the glorious 9-7 again for yet another season. Sorry if that doesn't tickle my fancy. If Bumchez, a guy going nowhere but down, is going to start, I want this team to lose. He has no business being the starting Quarterback of this team in 2013. He should be dealt, cut or "Matt Flynn'd" and I'll do anything to see that happen so that this TEAM can advance. I root for the team, not for a player.

i completely understand this train of thought. you believe it will take short term losses to produce better long term results.

i dont understand why people are so against this train of thought. its not like he is rooting for death. i mean it is a football game after all, right? but people freak out like you have just done the unholiest of unholies.... gasp you cant possibly want what you think is best in the long term!!!!

and then to question your fandom because of it is just funny too... oh no someone told you that you werent a "REAL" fan because you want things to be better sooner than later.

    its just absurd.

i never understood the point of investing big money in a backup when u have a sturdy starting qb

it has nothing to do with sanchez. this goes for all teams. it's a salary capped league. what's the point of paying 5+million dollars for a guy that's not even gonna see the field most likely?

if u have a injury prone qb i see the point. but a sturdy big guy? if ur qb goes down for long stretch of time, ur season's over anyways and if he's out for a short while than bad backup qb won't sink u.

just seem like an inefficient allocation of capital.

But yea i'm just a school girl..

I think your analysis misses a key point: Manning made it clear he didn't want to play for the Jets after we made our interest known to him. In fact, I think this happened when he came out of college, no?

The point is that we did show interest and would have pursued him had he not told us to jump off a bridge. What more were the Jets supposed to do once Peyton told them he refused to play for them? They can't kidnap him, force him to endure some wining and dining, and then sign him at gun point....or can they? :)

Anyway, this is why I don't think it is accurate to say the Jets didn't make an effort when, in fact, they were shut down before they could proceed. See what I mean? Since they had already said they were targeting Peyton, and he made it a point to close us down, I tend to think we were actually serious about pursuing him and he was equally sure he wanted nothing to do with us. Sad really.

An inefficient allocation of capital is paying a young poorly performing QB (one that turns it over more than he puts it in the endzone) TOP QB of the league $$$

I'm no Sanchez "hater" and strongly hope the dude works out (I've been a JETS fan longer than he's been alive) but anyone not in denial can see he has played poorly since the middle of last season (sans a few games here and there)

As far as the "sturdy big guy" thing, while he has shown he can take a hit PHYSICALLY, he's actually closer to the bottom of the list size/stature wise compared to current starting QBs in the NFL (Brees, Wilson & RG3 come to mind)

    You never answered my question:

Are you either related to him, trolling, or a teenage girl with a crush?

Having a decent backup QB is pretty fng important. Thats why the notion that we were going to run mark brunell out there was absurd. We squeaked by the Cards last wk solely b/c we have a decent backup QB available to replace buttfumble.

Soley seems a little to strong in a game where ARZ put up 6 points. But you could have used the other scenario, ARZ missed that good backup and lost the game because of it

AZ has a lousy backup qb who performed lousy and AZ lost. NYJ had a decent backup QB and he performed well and NYJ won. Either way you slice it, last wk demonstrated once again the value of having a decent backup QB.

Completely agree with you. I'm hoping we get crushed on Sunday and Sanchez throws 5 picks before Rex reluctantly takes him out and puts in McElroy. I don't want to see Sanchez anymore, even if we win tomorrow. If McElroy plays then I want the team to do well. But at this point I want Rex and Tanny gone so maybe it's best if Sanchez plays the rest of the way and we go 0-4.
