suckchise was NEVER a franchise qb. that's why his college coach said he wasn't ready for the nfl and needed to get more college experience. he was just another one of tannybum and badway's many evaluation mistakes.:shit:
His college coach said that because he's a selfish shit who was pissed that his QB was leaving for the NFL. Carroll showed the kind of classless jerk he really is with those comments.
The change to McElroy has to stay. Rex can't switch QB's the way a baseball manager changes pitchers. The offense is built around the QB, not the other way around. I think the coach has to show conviction in his decision. The only route for Sanchez back to starting QB this season is an injury to McElroy. Look, I wish Rex didn't have to change QB's. I was there on Sunday and Mark's performance was painful to watch. It had to be done. Now Rex must show the team he means business. If the Jets are serious about running the table, the time is now for change. For better or worse, Rex must stay with McElroy the rest of this season.
no, pete carroll said it cause the interception factory wasn't nfl ready. the team has to carry him. he can't carry the team, unlike eli or ben or brady. that's why he looked decent when we had more talent and sucked the last two years. he showed crap last sunday , then mcelroy went rolling with the same players and same plays suckchise was unable to execute. brandon moore's butt was safe for a game, as a bonus!
Eli's two Super Bowl wins were the defensive line playing AMAZING. He didn't carry anything, but was an important part. Yeah Big Ben carries his team so much that Charlie Batch took over, walked into Baltimore, and beat the Ravens. What is he carrying again? That top 10 defense with Harrison and Polamalu? Brady is one of the few, but as we saw, when his defense declined and he had to pick up more slack, 0 Super Bowls. We will have to see. The Jets ran the ball better with McElroy than Sanchez. AS other posters pointed out, we ran misdirection and counter run plays for the first time in a while with McElroy under center. I really wouldn't credit McElroy for the running game, more so the adrenaline caused by the switch and the fans. The true test is now if the Jets can keep on that level of play, thus making Greg's life so much easier
In my opinion McElroy has the potential to be the type of QB Rex wants in his system. A QB that can make the throws and will make little to no mistakes on the field. A run dominated offense with a QB that can make the throws. You notice how the oline started blocking better once he came into the game? He made some nice throws to Hill and Kerley. I hope he can be a solid QB for this team, and if the Jets really want to ground and pound then we don't need a Super stud QB just someone that can make plays when needed and wont turn the ball over. A role I believe McElroy can play.
Sanchez was in a position to be a top five draft pick and make a life altering amount of money. There's no guarantee he's ever in that position again if he comes back to school and gets injured or has a bad year. No coach who isn't a selfish piece of shit would ever talk a player down so emphatically in a situation like that. Carroll showed what he's all about when he threw that little hissy fit.
Absolutely agree. You can blame Sanchez for sucking and being a terrible qb, but you can't blame Sanchez for taking all those millions, and you can't blame Sanchez for taking millions more this off season for an extension. That's the fault of the management. I've been praying for a Sanchez injury every game since the season started, but how can you blame him for taking millions that are thrust at him? That's just silliness.
They let him throw because they had to ! They will probably hamstring the kid by making him hand off on every down and then ask him to throw it in the obvious 3 and long. You know set him up for success. Tannenbaum has a guaranteed 8 mil to get back on the field!
Yes and he should. The Jets have nothing invested in McElroy. If he wants to start he doesn't have a lot of room for error or the Jets will go back to the guy who they are paying a lot of money to. McElroy has to prove he gives the Jets a better chance to win, not just be a different face who just goes out and does the same thing Sanchez can do.

That wasn't a bad call. The illegal contact (I'd have called it a hold) prevented the receiver from being in a position to break up the INT.
What experience do you think he would have gained in another year at USC that he didn't get in three years at the NFL level? It's long since past being a relevant factor.
If McElroy has a bad start again the Jags you can pull him for another QB but I think you give him more then 1 start to test the waters. We probably shouldn't even pull him after the 2nd half because teams make their adjustments after the half is over so maybe the 3rd quarter to get a good gauge of how he performs. I just think this team is ready for a change any change. Did everyone watch the game closely when McElroy was put in and feel the team played harder when Sanchez was bench, especially the running backs? It just looks like the players wanted some sort of change.
I agree completely, Kerley and Wilkerson have been the two biggest bright spots of the team this year, Kerley would be having a way better statistical season if he actually had a good QB throwing to him. Even with Sanchez, Kerley has 700 receiving yards, and could easily end the season with 800-900 yards. Not bad for a guy whose getting passes from someone who buttfumbles and can't remember Kerry Rhodes isn't on the team anymore.
