You guys understand the first 3 quarters aren't just meaningless warm ups right? The play matters just as much then as it does in the 4th.

sure but you are assuming he was awful and threw a ton of picks to put us in need of late game heroics. Maybe that happens sometimes but in 2010 that was rarely the case.

Picks aren't the only thing that end up requiring late game heroics. The lack of completions that end a potential scoring drive lead to a lack of points that require late game heroics as well. The inabilty to gain yards hurts the defense and loses confidence and also sets up a need for 4th quarter comeback. The 4th quarter comeback is something that gets weighted too much because it's exciting and sticks out in memory, erasing a lot of reality from the previous 3 quarters.

not every game goes smoothly, sometimes things don't work early but when it was time to make plays in critical moments he was there to make them plus many of those late game heroics came from the D blowing late leads.

Agreed. I wanted Braylon over Holmes all the way.

Saying that Sanchez was excellent two years ago only means that the standards in the Jets' land are pretty damn low.

2010: 54.8%, 3,291 yards, 17 TD, 13 INT, 5 fumbles, 75.3 QB rating - these are low to average stats at best.

P.S. Keep in mind that he put up those numbers when he had help of almost 150 yards/game on the ground.

The Sanchez supporters sound eerily similar to the Teboners. The guy was a 5th overall pick, paid 14 mil, and has been a bottom tier QB in every possible metric for his entire career.

The kid can't make all the throws, is wildly inaccurate, has mediocre arm strength, still can't read a defense, can't audible for shit, can't move in the pocket, has never completed 60% of his passes in four years, and is a turnover machine.

He was surrounded by an elite top 5 personnel group in 2009-2010, and had some good moments. Unfortunately this is a sport where guys get old fast, and the cap rules prevent you from out talenting everyone. You need an above average QB to win in this league, and a couple of late game drives against prevent defenses doesn't erase mountains of data that the kid was never even average.

Seen Matt Ryan in the playoffs lately ?

What was his QB rating in the 4th Quarter and in the playoffs ?????????????????????????????

We know the guy wasn't Manning Or Brady, Petroz, we're just saying the guy saved his BEST moments for the BIG moments, which alot of QB's don't do.

Can someone get the QB ratings for Mark that year or overall in playoff games ? What about 2010 but Q4 only ????

I'll be turning in to the Falcons 1st game because Ryan will stink up the joint again and the Falcons will be 1-and-Done again.

Over-under on Ryan's QB rating will be 80.

awesome job posting stats out of context especially the rush #s where LT was great the first month then disappeared and thast # was skewed from a "great" week 17 game by Joe McKnight and some Brad Smith runs.

Our run game was good not great and was inconsistent most of the year after the great start by LT.

Ryan is 0-3 in postseason, in 3 games hs 4 INTs. In 6 games Sanchez has 3 INTs. Ryan has 3 TDs in3 games, Sanchez had 3 in one game at NE.

Ryan is a top flight reg season QB but until he does something in January it's all pretty meaningless.

But Ryan is taking his team to the playoffs, Sanchez got benched for hindering his team from beating the Cardinals. How come when Matt Ryan takes a team the playoffs it is discounted, but Sanchez gets to live off 09 and 10?

Braylon could be right, but this seems like a cheap shot to get back in the media spot light. The guy is basically non existent on his team as well as the NFL.

It's ok, nyjunc, I know it takes some time for you to let it go. I remember how upset you were when Hermy went to KC because, according to you, he was a great head coach. Where's he now? On ESPN - exactly where he belongs because he was all talk. Then, you were upset about the firing of Mangini. Where's he now? Out of the league as well because he was crap. Marky Mark will be out of the league soon as well because he's also crap. There's an obvious pattern here, isn't it? :)

I always hated that argument that "he hasn't done anything since he left". Its immaterial. The fact is that when he was here he was extremely effective in our system and it was obvious Sanchez was comfortable with him, and the jokers running this team let him walk away. The same with Brad Smith. He was the one guy they had that was a threat to score from anywhere on the field, and they let him walk away too, without replacement. A good indicator of why the team is in the state its in now.

compare his weapons vs. Mark's weapons and let me know what you find.

I never once called him great but nice deflection.

The pattern is obvious, I appreciate those men that help our team win. You guys want the cycle to continue w/ new QB and new HC every 2-3 years. That's not how you win in this league.

Bray had some off the field issues that I think Rex could have managed. He just needed a little bit of discipline.

Holmes has on the field issues and with the pay raise and free titles I think we are past the point of reigning him in. Holmes is a lost cause, detrimental to the youth of our football team.
