But Sanchez was the shakiest starter in the NFL who had been starting for 3+ years. Every other QB who was shakier still had a coach in "wait and see" mode on a prospect. Like with Gabbert.
I agree, McElroy should get at least one start. You can't un-ring a bell, and now that Ryan's benched Sanchez for McElroy he has to at least look into the possibility that McElroy is the better player. I don't feel bad for Tebow, however. The coaching staff isn't biased against him or anything; they just don't think that he's good enough to help this team win. Based on our roster, which is totally unsuited to run an option offense, I have to agree.
Yeah this team is not a team that runs a spread or option, Tebow's strength. It a short passing game with 3 step drop. Tebow's weekness, bad fit, should have known better.
Tough call. If he thinks we can smoke Jacksonville its the Big Mac Attack, This way Sanchez gets a week of rest and perspective. If not, Sanchez is the better player. On the first pic, it was a protection failure, on the third Schillens got hit in the hands. By the time GMac ran ground and pound, the Arizona D had been on the field for close to 30 minutes.
A protection failure??? He threw an ill advised rainbow up for grabs in the middle of the field off his back foot. That's QB 101 never do this type shit. Using protection as an excuse is really, really lame. It's the first play of the game. Take the sack! Sanchez needs to watch from the sidelines for at least a couple games IMO. That Arizona D was still owning Sanchez right up to his last snap BTW. Saying they were worn down is just another lame excuse. Sanchez couldn't even figure out how to change his cadence to stop that DB blitz from killing him all day. McElroy killed that shit quick.
Unless we have 3 qb's active for this game, it will probably be Mark who starts, Tim as the back up. If Tebow is active, I don't think they skip him on the dc to bring in Greg.
I just have this sinking feeling in my gut, that big rex is gonna start Sancho. And it will be yet another mistake.
Sanchez really sucked - it was almost comical. However, he did have stretch where it looked like he was gaining steam, turning his performance around, driving the team down the field. Then he made a perfect pass and was the victim of an outstanding defensive play (incredible really). Any hope he would pick himself up off of the grass after that was gone. That is why Sanchez is a bastard - if that had been the only pick he threw of the night, no one would be calling for his head except for the Sancho-closet lovers masked as haters. However, after the first two picks, it didn't matter. It didn't matter that he fit the ball perfectly to the receiver and the defender made an athletic play from hell. It was another pick and he was toast.
Manish Mehta @MMehtaNYDN I'm told owner Woody Johnson prefers Greg McElroy to be starting QB. GM Mike Tannenbaum & OC Tony Sparano prefer Mark Sanchez this week #nyj
in other words, he is going to ignore both the fans and the owner's wishes. that kind of stuff got his dad fired in philly and arizona. suckchise gives you the best chance to LOSE. :shit:
Rex better go with Gmac if he wants to please the owner, As far as winning the game goes i think all QB's on the team can win this one,We will know by tommorow who starts
