Playoffs shouldn't be a legal word around anything Jets related for a while.

You know what grinds my gears?

We really blew the chance to make the playoffs this year...Teams in the AFC are not beastly and we had a weak schedule

Seriously. It looked like we were going to get some help there and then everything that was bad for us (outside our game, obviously) happened. Didn't think we were going to make it anyway, mostly due to us having to win 5 in a row but it's all but sealed now. At least two of them should get to 10 wins if not all three.

It's not over. We're going to make it into the playoffs and take Indy's spot :)

In fact, I'm calling for a collapse right here and now:

Indy goes 0-4, Pitt goes 0-4, Cincy goes 1-3, we go 4-0.

Jets Still Can't Make the Playoffs

If the Jets win out, they are at 9-7 at BEST, so they have 3 teams competing for those 2 wildcard spots:

    Colts now 8-4 and play:
    • vs Titans
    • @ Texans
    • @ Kansas
    • vs Texans

    Steelers now 7-5 and play:
    • vs Chargers
    • @ Cowboys
    • vs Bengals
    • vs Browns

    Bengals now 7-5 and play:
    • vs Cowboys
    • @ Eagles
    • @ Steelers
    • vs Ravens

Expect the Colts to split or better and end up 10-4 and the Steelers to split or better to end 9-7 with the tie breaker over the Jets. Then there's the Bengals who can make a run, and that's all IF the Jets WIN OUT. It's over man, this season was lost a long time ago when Tannenbaum and Rex refused to bench Sanchez. I want the Jets to keep Rex but Tanny & Sparano have GOT to go and soon.

Why the fuck did they wait so long, why the fuck did they give Sanchez an extension after sucking, why the fuck did they replace a shit OC with a shit OC coach.

The Steelers are not a good team. They played OUT OF THEIR MINDS yesterday. Completely feasible for them to go 1-3 in their last 4. No running game, battered or crappy QB (depending on Big Ben's status). Just win and we have a good shot.

I don't expect the Jets to make the playoffs. If they can finish around the .500 mark, that is good.

Steelers aren't a good team?? They went on the road without their starting QB and beat the current 2nd seed in the AFC.

It was funny yesterday, after McElroy led our scoring drive, McElroy walked right by Sparano sitting on the bench with his clip board.

Easiest way to get in would be the Jets need the colts to lose both games to the Texans and drop one to the titans or the chiefs along with Bengal losses to the cowboys, steelers and ravens.

    Oh and win out.

    It is unlikely.

and we are not a crappy team? There is just no chance even if we win out, there are too many other games out of our control.

Who cares? I mean what are we going to do once we get to the play offs? Get blown out in the wild card round? The team is simply not good enough to be competitive in the postseason. So forget it, let's hope that WJ makes some quick moves with the coaching staff and we get a GM in here that knows what they're doing and starts by building through the draft.

There defense is nasty, the team is well coached and they always show up to play and win. The defense will keep them in games. I think they will struggle without Rothelisburger and no names at running back.

If steelers go 2-2 and lose to bengals and both bengals, steelers and jets are 9-7 no head to head tiebreaker will take place so it would go to conference wins and Jets would win tie breaker and get in!

So hope jets win out 1st than bengals beat steelers and both go 9-7

It's over anyway. At this point I'd be thrilled if they finish 9-7. That would be a winning season they can hang their hat on after all the chaos, injuries, ineffectiveness, etc. Just think about if they have to go to Denver, Baltimore or New England. It would be over in the 1st quarter. More likely they go 2-2 or 3-1 at this point.
