He wasn't, though. He was never #3 on the depth chart. So that point is invalid.

You think so? That your prediction?

I'm still not sure. I'm not even sure he's going to bench Sanchez yet.

That's why you have a training camp battle this coming offseason. At this point, it's very unlikely Tebow is going to recreate the magic with this team . Let him battle in TC next summer while building up McElory and seeing what he's got. Clearly the Jets know what they have in Tebow by never subbing him into the game in blowouts.

I'm very aware of Tebow's ability. I've followed college football very closely for many years, as well as pro. Arm strength means nothing at all when you can throw with great velocity several yards short of your intended receiver. Said it before, Tebow is a one-trick pony.

Yup, I was wrong, should've looked it up before posting.

Doesn't matter though, he is a terrible QB so he shouldn't be starting anyway.

Oh, so you judge that the reason they didn't sub in Tebow was because they didn't think he was good enough?

I scored the other way -- that they didn't want to fan the flames of calls for Tebow to start.

lol....you start the poll looking for validation that Tebow should start.
Now that the folks here do not share that opinion, you try and flip the script.
I'm a Jet fan first. Watching Tebow last season, I wasn't a fan of that type of offense.
Seems many others here feel that way, that's all.

Well, you kind of addressed the point - he has problems other than arm strength. His slow delivery practically cancels it out.

I was just explaining to those fans who were unaware that the throws the ball the hardest of any QB on this roster.

I'm not talking about Pennington and the Jets today I'm talking about how having one positive trait/characteristic about you doesn't necessarily make you good/successful/able.

Not good or bad, that they knew what they had. They wanted to see if they could get Sanchez back to his 2nd year, beginning of 3rd year Sanchez, but they couldn't. Like how you leave a shooter in bball in a blowout, so you can try to get them back on track. Also, playing Tebow or McElroy in a blowout doesn't show much except they can play well on a soft prevent D, something Sanchez showed he could do in the blowouts.

No, I thought it would go in McElroy's favor.
Not at all. I just didn't expect anyone to claim that the results of the poll shed any light on the answer.

They're generally just for fun, just to take the pulse of what everybody is thinking.

Not for you, though -- I understand.

Everything Rex says needs to be taken with a pound of salt and a xanax.

Yes, that's true. I'll be listening also to what he says about McElroy. Same rules apply, right?

Yeah he said a lot of nothing in today's presser. Called McElroy smart about 20 times and said he believes in all his QBs if they need to step in and play. So who knows where he goes with this.

Agreed. I'm just pointing out that Pennington had MANY good traits.
Sanchez has virtually none, Tebow is very 1 dimentional, and McElroy is limited. i'd still go McElroy. So we are essentially agreeing except your assessment of Pennington being 1 dimentional with accuracy.

I'd start McElroy. Jax should be the ideal team for him to get more reps against while limiting his opportunities to make mistakes.

    I wouldn't even dress Tebow.
