And Tebow has been used as a personal punt protector more than a QB. I don't think we can accurately judge if Tebow improved from his throws as PP or WC QB. His biggest struggle was reading defense and being consistent, two things he really doesn't have to do. It would be as ridiculous to say Tebow is not a good runner anymore because of his WC plays. They don't accurately judge how he would do as a full time QB
A pass is a pass. The football doesn't change size or shape during different play types. Did he get the football to the intended receiver or not?
What does his improvement/lack of improvement correlate to how recognizable he is? BTW, I would argue that he is still *very* recognizable.
Yeah, but a pass on an unexpected passing play out of a punt formation is a lot difference than a pass with a regular defense on the field expecting a run/pass not a punt. He threw a pass to wide open people when nobody expected it. Guess what, Sanchez looks good doing that to but he sucks when it comes to overall QBing right now. That's the point. His PP or WC plays aren't going to accurately reflect his ability as a FT QB. That's why Hines Ward, LT, Brad Smith, Kerley all look good throwing out of the WC but nobody in a second dreams of putting them at QB. It doesn't accurately reflct their QBing ability. We don't know how Tebow has improved until he starts. It's looking like we won't see that until next year and possibly on another team. Then we can accurately judge if he has gotten better.
Come on man, this is a heisman winning QB with gaudy passing stats. I know it was college, but I'm just saying, it's not like the guy is just learning how to QB. He's not an RB converting to QB.
man Backup QB has gotta be the dumbest guy alive lol @ Tebow's 65% completion percentage showing he has improved. Wow
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Sanchez is the worst QB. Tebow at this point isn't far ahead of him.
Don't go out on a limb. Tebow IS the worst QB in the NFL. Sanchez however is a bottom of the league starting QB. Only Quinn, and Lindley are worse.
He still needs to improve on his passing and 7 passes out of trick plays is not going to show any improvement/decline. Look at this way, if Tebow threw some ducks out of those 7 passes, you wouldn't say it shows Tebow's passing ability has declined. You would say, that it's a small sample size and not accurate compared to actual QBing. Tebow will be getting another shot eventually, and then we can truely see.
So you're gonna take the 6 passes he completed all year, add them to the couple hundred or so he attempted last year, and split the average and say 57%? 3 of tose came from really short dump offs in one game that netted 8 yards. Do all 3 in a row, that amounts to a three and out. I could have done THAT. I've seen some dumb attempts to spin the numbers... but... wow...
Yes, I would have been "dumb" if that is what I actually said. I don't call people dumb on the internetz, I reserve those kinds of comments for face-to-face interaction... So let me just say you lack attention-to-detail. A particularly bad characteristic to have. So, you see... I did not say what you suggested. Now, being that I clearly and openly admitted to the forum when I was wrong, why don't you follow suit and man up. Apologize.
Kaepernick, and now Wilson is added to the list .. hell even kirk cousins looks like he could play. the list of new qb's better than Tebow keeps getting longer! What I dont get is how they could be better than Tebow? After all he did win a couple of natty's a heisman and he played against the best defenses ever anytime anywhere in the SEC. Gosh, it doesn't make any sense!
