And he's the ONLY TACKLE IN FOOTBALL TO DO SO.

Anything less than 10 seconds in the pocket is the offensive line fault. Haven't you realized that by now.

    My mistake!!

The OL also whispers sweet nothings such as "Psst .. see that double or triple coverage? Sling it in there, Mark. We can blame on WR talent and our shittiness!" into his ears. :breakdance:

It's too bad that you had to take what could have been a good, positive thread and ruin it by posting that last line. I mean, where are the people saying it's never Sanchez's fault anyway?

I'm glad D'Brick is rebounding so strongly after an off year in 2011.

By saying that someone else other than Sanchez is playing bad, that means that clearly the other person is the reason Sanchez sucks and Sanchez gets no blame. There is no middle ground, only one or the other in some posters' minds.

Good for Brick. That's good to see after last years questionable year

The reason Brick hasn't given up a sack is that they are getting to the QB too fast from the other side.

People just can't resist spinning the one positive thing about our offense into a negative about Sanchez. Was that really necessary???? Can't we just discuss the fucking line or Ferguson without turning it into a fucking primadonna blame game. Grow up. You don't need to troll every single thread with a Sanchez sucks comment.

For Ferguson, that's incredible, I had no idea Brick was playing that well. Last year he was the worst on the line for giving up sacks just below Wayne Hunter. It's nice to see him making a comeback after an off year. Funny thing, he probably won't make the pro bowl this year, even though he made it after a horrendous season last year.

That is extremely incredible. Ferguson truly is amazing. I'm glad to see him redeem himself after an off year.

D'Brick has been great this year and the O-line isn't as bad as people say, that's for sure.

Hm, if I was a defensive coordinator going up against the Jets, would I put my best pass rushers up against a great offensive tackle? Or would I put them up against a mediocre one? I think I'd go with the latter.

Naturally, that means Ferguson gets an easier challenge each week.

The offensive line is one of the most interesting parts of football to me. so when i re-watch the jets games i focus on this unit.

here are my personal results of pressures allowed or just bad plays by offensive linemen after 9 games (i didn't re-watch the STL and NE games yet).
For example it also includes plays, where a lineman should have recognized and picked up a blitz.
my self-generated stats do not factor in, if a pressure or a play, where a lineman got beaten, ends up with a sack. Because if the play does not result in a sack, it's still a bad play from the lineman.

    Brick: 8
Slauson: 5 (limited playing time due to Ducasse)
    Mangold: 4
    Moore: 8
    Howard: 18

Obviously the guards do get help from Mangold often, while especially Brick is let on his own in pass protection.
that means, Brick is just having one bad play per game against elite pass rushers. So I also think he is having a pretty good year.

It also needs to be said, that RBs and TEs are not doing a good job in pass protection. A lot of the sacks given up are on them.

sorry for the broken english and greetings from Austria!! (not Australia!!) ;)

Howard's struggling but Just imagine how lucky the Jets are that they even found Howard. He's actually improved the RT position big time. Hopefully, this team will stop putzing around & draft some real talent on the line.

Or spend some money on a decent FA to start on either RG or RT

    good one.

In reality, even when Sanchez has lots of time, odds are good he'll fuck up anyway, like near the goal line in Seattle. That was a firing offense.

Considering what's on the other side of the line, I wouldn't bother challenging him if I was a DC.
