Is it just me or do we play better on the road? I know I'm not the only one who notices this. We don't seem to be making nearly the amount of mistakes on the road as at home.
This year the answer is probably marginally yes. The Jets have been outscored at home by an average of 7.1 points (and are 2-4) and have been outscored on the road by an average of 4.8 points (and are 2-3). What is much more the case is that they are far more inconsistent at home than they are on the road. They've played their two best games of the season at home (48-28 over Buffalo and 35-9 over Indianapolis), and have also played their two worst games of the season at home (losing 34-0 to SF and 49-19 to New England). I think it's the latter that gives the impression that they're so bad at home, since while losing a blowout on the road might be understandable, getting blown out at home really is unacceptable.
Fuck this team it cant stand the pressure of home field and having to preform they never have been good at home EXCEPT last year
Our fans suck, most people in NY/NJ are front running gay-men fans and our team at home are to busy with club life and getting there peckers touched rather then winning football games.
Interestingly this year his home splits are better than road. Career it goes the other way slightly on rating and Comp% (but his TD/INT ratio is better at home)
It's probably because there are so many negative fans there expecting them to play bad, so the bad mojo hurts the Jets. If the Seahawks fans are their 12th man, then the Jets fans must seriously count as -1.
Jets are 2-3 on the road as opposed to 2-4 at home this season and last season they were 6-2 at home as opposed to 2-6 on the road.
We do seem more prone to blowouts at home, though. We played Miami and NE tough in their stadium, but then they come to ours and kill us. It's like the opposite of what it should be. Same thing happened in 2010.
They also faced the 49ers and Texans at home. Maybe playing 2 of the best teams in football had something to with it.
This years team is terrible overall, but yeah I have noticed that the Jets play slightly better on the road than at home. And I believe it's true that our fanbase has become more nastier than its ever been in recent years. I read a blog from a Jets fan and she said that the fans in Seattle were very friendly when she was visiting to see the Jets/Seahawks game. Here's a quote and source: "Let me tell you something. I went to Seattle a few weeks back to see the Jets get their asses kicked by the Seahawks. I knew there was a possibility they’d lose (more like a HIGH probability), but Seahawks fans were nice. They bought me drinks. They talked about the game. I felt more at home at a road stadium than I do at MetLife Stadium"- Coop Link: http://galforallseasons.com/2012/11/27/why-we-cant-have-nice-things/ Reading this quote, what does that say about our fanbase?
its been alot of negativity at the stadium this season. some of it warranted, some of it idiotic. i can't blame fans for booing a crappy product they spend money on but some of the booing and taunts are over the line and idiotic. that said they've never really been a great home team, even in years they were good, aside from 98 where they went 7-1 and last year where they were 6-2 they've never really been a dominant home team. its crazy though how some teams can suck and still be real tough at home, seattle in alot of seasons, the chiefs up until about a few years ago were still tough at home despite sucking, are teams that come to mind.
