There's a lot of idiot fans out there. Heck, just read the Sanchez threads. Most people don't realize that the offense relies on 11 guys and not just one. They think cutting Sanchez will magically fix everything. I agree with Ed. Those types of fans are shitty and don't belong at the games. If you hate life that much, then sell your tickets to opposing team fans and be done with it. I really get annoyed when I hear about fights breaking out and whatnot and it's never Jets vs phins fans, it's always Jetfan on Jetfan crime. I know the Jets offense sucks this year, but that's no excuse to rip on fireman Ed. It's not because of Tebow either, it's because Sanchez has had a bad year and it's a very simple way to think about it.

Thank God for technology because it will be the four video boards leading the chant, not some another schmuck. Back in 2007 and 2008, we didn't have that. Now we do. We'll be fine.

I don't think anyone's saying that. I think the prevailing thought is that there are many problems with the offense but that the quarter back is by far the most important position and is led by arguably the worst player in the nfl at that position. Before trying to fix 10 other positions, it's probably most prudent to address the one most important position first. Improving the qb position will have a far more positive effect than improving any other one position on the team.

and Ed himself did it on the field before the Bills game.

I don't dislike Ed, I appreciate what he does but this is a guy who was not at games when we stunk in the 90s then became our unofficial mascot during our run in '98 and people think he was always there. he likes attention which is ok, it's his right. he's doing something none of the rest are doing but this screams more like an attention grabber than anything else.

The Sanchez sucks thread is full of people saying that. He's guaranteed until the end of 2013, so yes, you surround him with players that he can win with before replacing the QB and putting whatever replacement you pick in a horrible situation. Sanchez has done it before, so there's no reason that with a stronger oline, more receiver chemistry and better running game he can't improve his stats. I just don't feel his stats are indicative of what he's capable of. When there are issues with route running, pass protection, run blocking and we have all below average players on offense minus one or two guys, that's going to happen unless you have an elite QB. So unless we can magically bring in Brady, Rodgers, Matt Ryan, Drew Brees, or either of the Mannings, Sanchez should stay for his final year.

Glad to see Ed quit. Not surprised he was catching alot of flack. Sanchez however is going nowhere since they just gave him a 50M contract extension. And frankly Sanchez is okay, QB is not the most urgent need for an upgrade. The Right side of the OL is the most urgent need. One of the main reasons, Sanchez is running around for his life back there is b/c his line isn't blocking well enough, same reason why the ground and pound is not consistent: OL is not controlling LOS. Moore/Howard is not getting it done.

That was 2 different guys that Ed stole the chant and never acknowledged. He was at home rooting for the Dolphins during the early 80's plotting his way to get famous.

    Here's some facts

    haha this was funny...

On August 16, 2010, during a Monday Night Football Giants vs Jets pre-season game, Fireman Ed's inaugural Jets chant in the New Meadowlands Stadium was interrupted by a Giants fan who raised his Giants hat while Fireman Ed's fellow Jets fans stood by. Fireman Ed repeatedly shoved the fan before the fan was escorted away from Ed's chanting post.[21] The Giants fan was later removed from the game. Fireman Ed was charged with simple assault for the incident,[22] but the charges were later dropped.[23]

Good…maybe he can reinvent himself as Captain USA

It seriously took him since 1972 to figure out that at least half of all Jets fans are useless?

I could care less about chants, side shows or mascots.. I just wanna see the jets win one before I die. If ed was being harassed, Then he should step down. Don't wanna stir the pot and make it worse. Ed needs to know that by wearing a sanchez jersey, He is a apologist for him and there are fans who down right hate the guy. He went to an AFCCG and a lot of jet fans would say he is the reason. Not the fact that we had the most talented team in the AFC at the time.

I feel his pain with the Jets. I also am at an all time low with this Franchise. That said, my blood still bleeds green and white, and will continue to root for this team.

Unfortunately, I don't even have the joy to watch them this year. I feel like I can watch every game this year again, and feel like I am watching a future game. Woody, Rex, Tanny, Sanchez don't want to be 4-7, and I know the fans don't want to be either. However, nothing is being changed, even for the sake of changing.

As far as Ed, fuck him. He is a staple point of this franchise, like it or not, and he can't even leave without his 15 minutes of fame.

anyone who is at an all time low as a Jet fan right now never went through the 90s(or the 70s- I didn't go throgh the 70s but we went 0 for the decade as far as making the playoffs).

I was a fan during the 90's, but I wasn't a die hard fan. Not so much for the lack of talent, just a lot of other shit going on. I didn't start paying attention until I was out of school, and not playing the game myself.
