It's hard to keep the faith when we give up two games worth of points in just 52 seconds.
I don't think we can overcome the issues we have with the personnel we have, both on the field, on the sidelines and in the office.

When Westhoff's squad falls apart, there is a problem with player discipline team wide.

No. There is no need for a new "mascot"

This day was coming. The chant should die, along with the fireman Ed persona.

How can people honestly give a shit about someone who's no different than any of us not coming to games under his gimmick anymore?

Who cares. The chant will live on, and there will be one less asshole standing on the railing in the endzone.

I love the chant, as said in my previous post.

But it will be interesting to see how they replace ed

i am not a fan of noisy exits, but i can understand as dedicated fan sometimes you throw a fit because you want someone to hear just how pissed you are. People do it here after a loss, they go out of character and start a thread(some really classics. Ohio pork?). This may not be the worst team we have ever had,but there is something different about how bad it is.

Angry Fans + Alcohol = Bad Things

Seriously, rowdy fans are a problem everywhere in the NFL. That is why attendance to games is down across the NFL, but viewership is an all time high. People like football, but HD, rowdy fans, and overpriced tickets are making people just stay at home and watch the game.

A couple of thoughts- first- this is pretty sad. Granted in recent years I have become very jaded with the whole fireman ed act, but growing up, my favorite moment of the games was the jets chant led y fireman ed. I remember getting nervous that he wouldnt show up (he used to tailgate late)

having said that. this might a great opportunity to return to the chants old form. Members of this board have often reflectd on the origins of the chant in which the two sides of the stadium would chant J-E-T-S at each other in increasing volume and it was awseome. Granted it wouldnt be as oragnized as it is now, granted it isnt the 70s and granted the jets suck , it still might be kind of fun....

but this is kind of sad. he seems like a pretty impulsive guy. if you followed his twitter it was riddled with spelling errors, curses and the phrase "POW-POW!" so its possible this is a knee jerk reaction to thursday nights debacle but we shall see.

Do they have enough money under the cap to sign somebody else?

definetly always worse when the team is bad. if i spent by tgiving, money etc to be at the last game,id be pretty furious too. nobody deserved that. it wasnt just a loss,it was about as ugly as anyone should ever have to see a bunch of people who get payed million to play. I am starting to wonder if there is no discipline, like these guy party all the time or something

Really? It's his fault? Seems like it's just carried away Jets fans that lost control.

If I read it correctly, he is not quitting on the team, he is just going to to sit somewhere else and watch the game because druck assholes, heckle him, becauae they think he works for the club.

I'm with you Ed, I think I'm going to watch the Jets from another television.
