Dead serious. Pros and cons - add them up and tell me if you had to pick one and put your job on the line which one is it? I'd take Kaepernick all day every day and 2x on Sunday.
I'd take Kap, same kind of QB as Teb, but looks pretty polished. They look like they have worked with him well. Who to say which way he will go from here, but he looks good I'd add that there are probably 15 or so teams that would have Kap over their starting QB including the Jets, so what is the point of this question? Is it to put down Tebow or something?
Nope. I'm dead serious. I was shocked by that game last night. I saw a qb i didnt expect, especially after what he did to us. I thought he was a tebow clone, run first, throw second. I thought the two would be interchangeable. I was wrong. I was impressed.
Kaepernick. He's a better thrower, better arm, better delivery better reads everything. Last night he made some AMAZING throws, and showed good accuracy. I really liked him coming out of college, he just needed time to learn a pro-offense. Tebow is a better short yardage runner because he has a bit more burst, but I don't think he is on Kaepernick's level as a passer.
Coaching has a lot to do with it. They called a beautiful mix of run and pass and short passes that opened up the seam. It was really good.
I have it on good information that a quarterback who played in a Pistol offense cannot be good in the NFL. I have also been taught that a running quarterback's talent is of no use in the NFL. Also, when a quarterback starts out lousy and struggles, he can't develop into a good quarterback with time and reps. So therefore, Kap can't be good.
There is a few coaching a that build around the QB and execute. Panthers and Redskins do a great job. The skins dink and dunk with screen passes being the defenses in and then unload down field. It nice to watch.
Maybe... i honestly didnt see that type of production. I thought maybe 50% completion rate, 175-200 yards passing, maybe 50-65 yards rushing and a td with 1-2 turnovers. One game doesnt make a career, but he passed the eye test and anyone that says different is full of beans.
You have also been full of shit since you started that post. Pistol QBs have been successful, running can be a great asset if you can also pass. A QB with the right skills can develop. Of course you mean the arguments against Tebow, which isn't actually any of those, it is that a QB who can't throw the ball can't be successful. Kaepernick could always throw, he just made terrible decisions.
Kaepernick played very well last night. He has also had some shaky performances in mop-up duty if I recall correctly. I'm not going to crown him the new savior of the Niners after just one game against a Chicago team without their starting QB. We'll see how he turns out once he's got a much bigger sample size. He may very well turn out to be very good, but I'll reserve judgement on that until I see more.
I'm going to have to pick Kaep, since that would be another good way to insult Tebow. There's no way Tebow could ever have a single game that was even on the same level as the game Kaep had last night, of course. Hell... has Tebow even won a game by now? That guy drags down every team he goes to. I bet the broncos would've won the superbowl if they just kept Orton at qb. That is the answer you're looking for, right...? Look! I can read minds too, now!
I liked what I saw from Kaepernick. All you have to watch is one series to see his leadership on the field. That's the first evaluation as quarterback. He is the future(maybe present) QB of the 49ers. Probably Alex Smith's last season as a 49ers. I'll definitely take Kaepernick over Tebow and the fool Sanchez.
No, most Jets fans are sunshiney optimists who think everything is peachy with their team and there is absolutely no room for improvement. Get out around the board more.
