Ok so push across the board with dudes that are healthy and playing. Richardson as an option out of the backfield is head and shoulders above Greene. I'm not sure about Keller all day over Watson, Keller 2 years ago ok, Keller that runs the wrong route and looks lost all the time, no thanks.
I would take Sanchez over Brady also. Just the thought of that fag in a Jets uniform is enough to send me over the edge.
We have to look at this objectively for THIS season, and not over the course of careers. Holmes is out, which makes the argument pretty moot. Besides that, he had one good game prior to getting hurt. Gordon and Little are FAR more dependable than Hill right now. I'll give Hill blocking, but Gordon and Hill have been better receivers over the course of this season. Kerley is better then Massaquoi. Massaquoi is made of glass. Keller over Watson for career. However, this year they are fairly similar, especially since Keller was injured plenty of this year. Plus Watson splits time with Cameron, and he's better then Cumberland. Even though Richardson is a back, he gets a great deal of passes thrown his way. That said, he's much more dangerous then Greene or anyone we have in the backfield. Not sure why someone would say "Look at the Browns". Sadly, the future of Browns' offensive nucleus looks far brighter then does ours. Pro bowl Mack at C, Pro bowl Thomas at LT, and Schwartz on the other side.
I'm reading all the comments on fan sites and newspapers from all the teams without elite QB's but the batch of Next Elites -- Bradford, Stafford, Newton, etc -- all with multiple years of experience and all of their fans abandoning ship. Those fans would sign up for back-to-back AFC/NFC CG's.
Yes... Look at the browns. Look at Trent rush and catch out of the backfield like a veteran. Good call OP.
People also seem to ignore that we've had pretty much a different wide receiver corp each year Sanchez has been the starting quarter back.
No they don't. It's brought up almost as often as the fact that he lack quality receivers this year. Clearly those are two of the reasons he throws pick sixes on screen passes, and why he can never hit a receiver in stride. By the way I rank him 30-32 starters, but there are a probably 4-5 back up qb's I would take over him.
Did you see Kaepernick handle the Bears' defense tonight? He looked like he's been starting for years ... Taking control of the game in a way we never see out of Sanchez.
Weeden, Palmer, Gabbert, Cassel, Skelton/Kolb, Bradford, Fitzpatrick the only ones clearly worse than Mark, and at least they can all pass for 60%.
Sanchez is better then several other NFL QB's: Gabbert Arizona 3 Alex Smith (Yes I'm serious Smith sucks, this is the best team in football by far, Sanchez could win a SB with that team) Fitzpatrick Cassell Weeden Tebow-Because Rex says so. Don't think he's better but would take him over: Romo-Can and will fuck up a wet dream team Palmer-Just not the same since his knee was destroyed Yet to be determined: Tannehill Bradford Wilson I think Sanchez has been pretty bad but I also think he has been handled terribly since day one. With the right management he might well be a top 10 QB.
Id take absolutely any qb over Sanchez. At least Gabbert has more upside than our feeble minded pussy qb.
QB's I'd take Sanchez over for right now, meaning kickoff today: Ryan Fitzpatrick Ryan Tannehill Brandon Weeden Blaine Gabbert Matt Cassell/Brady Quinn Kevin Kolb/John Skelton Michael Vick/Nick Foles That's about it. For a game today the Jets have about the 25th worst situation in the NFL. If you were talking future potential I'd probably take Tannehill over Sanchez, although I'm not sold on Tannehill at all. He's got most of the same problems that Sanchez does, just less water under the bridge to go along with that.
b WB, I don't mean to pick on your point here, but I am not sure what it has to do with the OP's question. I am sure not every other Qb in the league has been handled all that well. I don't mean to say that in hindsight, or even foresight if you or someone else felt that way at the time, that there might not be things here and there that could have been done differently. But that sort of coulda woulda shoulda stuff is really not about where he is now, and what he's got, and not got, going forward. As for some other comments, and for all the problems with Jet roster on O and their CS, it's not like every other team with mediocre Qb stat lines are filled with talent on their offensive rosters, either. Take Philly. I am no Michael Vick fan, and think his style of play does not fit over the medium to long run in the NFL. But let's face it. His OL sucks. Much worse than the Jet OL. As for the OP, I interpret it to mean this year AND going forward. That makes someone like Palmer problematic. At one time he had far more talent than Sanchez ever had and ever will, but he does seem to be limited by the long term effect of injuries. Vick I think was the better Qb going into this year, but injuries and lack of a long term positive outlook make him a bad investment going forward. And Cassell, despite his success in NE, looks like a mess. AZ also has little positive to look at at Qb. But I'd take pretty much anyone mentioned who's been starting that is younger than Sanchez, including Gabbert, because they have more upside potential going forward. Imo, we've seen Sanchez's upside, and it's a memory. I can't believe anyone who is other than a blind homer would literally take Sanchez over Tannehill or Wilson. Let me throw in a couple of backups who I think are better, like Campbell, Moore in Miami, Kyle Orton, and apparently this Kappernick dude. How about Flynn in Seattle? Yep. Pretty much any of them. As an edit point I should mention I don't know that a straight up trade for Tony Romo would thrill me. He is like Mark Sanchez, good and bad, on steroids. That team seems to have so much talent, and they did win this past week, so maybe Romo is still getting it done enough to beat out Sanchez. But I'm jus sayin I see no upside in bringing him to the Jets. He's even more frustrating as a Qb and I don't see that changing in the rest of his career. It almost makes me feel sorry for Cboy fans. In short, Sanchez does not break my top thirty if you include some starters currently on the bench with injuries.
Chad Henne of all people looked good this last week, and may end up taking the starting job from Gabbert....so how does that effect the rankings?
You Add McCoy to this team straight up, and we would easily be 6-4, possibly better. With or without Greene as the 2nd back. There is no comparison.
I agree that i would rank him at 30th. cassell has had a concussion and is a turnover machine as well who is very limited and just seems defeated. John Skelton has a big arm but he really is just a college QB and has no business in the league. Weeden has been worse then sanchez, but not by much and as a rookie id take him since he may still improve. that said, there are also a couple backups i would take over sanchez - matt moore, matt flynn, matt hasselback, maybe even tebow. also think ryan mallet is better but he hasnt played so id leave him off. it really isnt all that debatable. even if you are a sunshiner you couldnt rank him higher then like 27th. sanchez is just terrible, and has been consistently bad for 4 years.
you take mark sanchez, who is 30th or worse in qb rating and completion percentage, over tony romo, his is like 5th ALL-TIME in passing efficency?
