Qb Sanchez will never be a top QB. Chances are he'll never even be a middle of the league QB. We won today because he didn't kill us with turnovers, and turnovers killed the Rams instead ... and rather than missing it, he actually made a big play when it was open to be made (Shillens). He gave us decent play at the position today. If he can simply give us what he gave us today on a consistent basis, we probably would win more games with him than we lose. Unfortunately, today was the exception rather than the rule. We need to be able to depend on him to do it week in and week out.
With his cap numbers next years he'll be on the roster and probably starting one last time to see if he can get it going. I really expect the Jets to take a developmental QB somewhere between rounds 2 and 4 inclusive.
Sanchez is still garbage but actually played one of his better games today. He for once didnt do his best to screw up a game like he usually does. It would be nice for once if "Sanchez" would actually win games when the rest of the team isnt playing well. Seems like most of his decent games come when he isnt asked to do much more but be a game manager when he was drafted in a spot to be a difference maker. Anyways, props to Sanchez though for todays game.
i think we should sign him to an extension before he hits the open market so we dont have to fight all 31 other teams for him!!!!
Sanchez still sucks, One good game doesn't change what he has done this season,he is trash to me and i would still welcome in Tebow today if we made a change,This doesn't change all the bad throws, the pick sixes, the int on the goaline in Seattle, the sack fumbles to end the Pats n Texans games that we had a chance to win.The 49ers game in witch we got shut out,The way he looks when he makes a mistake, So he managed the game today and he managed to not make a mistake thats all he did guys. I give more credit to Bart Scott for his fumble return and the defense then i do to Sanchez.I still hate him, If he doesn't turn the ball over for 5 straight games i might start to change my mind but until then i still don't belive in Sanchez.
My quarterback! Lol fuck this guy. The only reason the Jets won is because Schotty had Bradford throwing directly to defenders just like he did with Sanchez.
The people bashing Sanchez after a nice day are so full of it....please guys, its come to a point where people want Sanchez to fail for them and their egos to be right. Sanchez had shit protection in quarter 1 and he ended up having a pretty flawless game, even if he wasn't asked to do much. When called upon to make plays, he made some very good throws despite Stephen Hill having a god awful day and he did what was asked. The running game did nothing until Sanchez started to gash the Rams in the air so this whole "Oh the running game dictated the game" is nonsense...it built the lead up, it didn't get us going. Sanchez and the air attack did. I understand Mark's been pretty bad this year(The team has in general but don't let that stop you from scapegoating Mark as bad as Yankee fans did with A-Rod as the sole reason the team didn't go to the WS) but give me a break....trying to defend yourselves on the QB being utter garbage? When Sanchez is terrible, the darksiders of the QB have their day to celebrate....but be fair and honest in assessment when Mark has himself a good game. Stop trying to downplay the QBs game if he had a nice day by bringing up his final stats and saying he didn't overwhelm a team with the gauging numbers....he didn't HAVE TO. It'd be silly for him to throw and throw and throw with how this game ended up going. Some Jets fans are just hard to please honestly....you guys would be bitching if we won the game but didn't win by double digits since we didn't "Fire on all cylinders".
Mark had a good game today. I think he can be a good game manager. But, he only missed five passes and was a LOT better in decision making.
Sure. 175 yds - 75% completions - 1 TD and 0 TO is a good game... no doubt. The problem is... Sanchez only has games like this 1 out of every 3, or so. The average QBs have them every other game... and the really good ones, 2 out of 3.
Need another efficient day on Thursday. Beating New England can really turn our season around. Every game after is very winnable.
When the game is there to manage Sanchez tends to be capable of doing that. When things get hairy he tends to get hairy along with the rest of the team. The bottom line is that if the Jets get to the point where they can win a championship based on things other than the QB play Sanchez probably won't stand in the way. He'll probably contribute some here and there. That's not a franchise QB. That's a QB where you hope he has his peak season when the rest of the team is ready to go because otherwise you're not going to get there.
Sanchez supporters: do you guys know in Sanchez's first two seasons Rex Ryan has come out in his Post-Game conference and said he "thought" about benching Sanchez? Sanchez has been the most inconsistent QB in the league for the past 3-4 years. He has been looked at as the problem since he came into this league! The only difference this year is he is "part" of a massive problem!
Let's not forget that if that early fumble by Sanchez didn't happen to bounce directly back to him, the Jets are down 14-0 and it's a whole different game. The Jets D came back with an early turnover on the Rams 15 yard line and Sanchez did nothing, leading to the blocked FG. Throughout the game, at various times, Sanchez held the ball too long in the pocket and took sacks instead of throwing it away or making a fast decision. Sanchez is utter dog shit. Even a below average QB, given the amount of turnovers and amazing field position would have scored 30 points. It just goes to show how low the bar is set when people are singing his praises when he doesn't have 4 int's and 2 fumbles. *ANY* qb should be able to win when the defense comes up with so many turnovers, the running game is working well, and the opponents OC is literally retarded. We will see what happens Thursday. Best case scenario Jets win and Wilfork falls on Sanchez's leg, breaking it in 51 places.
But we are limited with options because we got rid of our backup QB in Stanton. We owe Sanchez a lot of money, there are no good FA available, no QBs worth trading draft picks considering our other holes, and no lock QBs in the draft. All that adds up to instead of getting pissed off and complaining about Sanchez, trying to find the recipe that worked the first two years with him for next year. Unless the Jets pull a fast one, Sanchez is on this team next year.
