I sincerely feel bad for that kid. I really do.

He has all the intangibles you want out of a leader. Hell, he even packs some mass like a fullback - he's always a threat to run, but different kind of threat than say, RG3 or Cam.

Now, his problem is... obviously, his mechanics. If he had the mechanics of lowly Mark Sanchez, then it would be a no brainer. What a pity. Really.

[I am pissed while writing about this bullshit - I was at downtown Manhattan today, and there was a book signing event for Bruce Springsteen at Barnes and Nobles - damn close to where I was. Fuck me.]

I have always maintained that Timmy has very bad mechanics for a conventional QB role. In a spread-option QB role, though, he has great and rare mechanics as a ball handler and savvy play-action QB. At some point, a losing team may decide to acquire him, run an actual training camp in the shotgun spread with a real spread-O Head Coach (say Chip Kelly). The results might be surprising.

Consider that it worked for Denver *despite* not having any training camp reps for the read-option series. If you watch, the Broncos players often looked half-hearted running some of the option plays, like running backs standing around in poor pitch relation. But the plays often worked anyway, despite the lack of confidence and dedication on behalf of the team. Tebow just has a knack for it. The Wildcat, though, tends to take away from his advantage by not allowing him to ride/fake/give to a ballcarrier.

It's in the Dump on Tebow forum so I don't see the problem. You are right - the mods that troll this forum won't mind.

What is there to feel bad about? He's a great person by all accounts which means more than anything he can do on the field, he's an elite athlete making a great living playing in the NFL and doing great work for less fortunate folks. B/c he's not a great QB doesn't take away all the great he has done in his life.

I didn't ban him, but will not hesitate to ban you for questioning his ban if you decide you want to go down that route.

A great idea is worth repeating ad nauseum. Have him in the huddle with Sanchez for all plays. No one in the opposing huddle will know what he's going to do until its (hopefully) too late to defend.

Let him catch balls and take handoffs (maybe event throw once or twice) and surely he'll get the chance to do some Tebowing again, and we'll have rehabilitated God's reputation.

    Buffalo Bills
    Doug Flutie was too short.
Rob Johnson was the PERFECT Looking Quarterback.

Rob Johnson had everything a coach was looking for. Even if he was losing and was terrible the coach was sticking with him no matter what.

Doug Flutie - Gets his chance and wins lots of games. Yet still the coach goes with Johnson

    New York Jets
Tim Tebow - Can't Throw and is terrible
Mark Sanchez - Has great form looks and plays like a Quarterback

Mark Sanchez has everything a coach could want. Sure he might not be the greatest but he PLAYS like a Quarterback

Tim Tebow - Wins games. Has Magic. This whole time people aren't realizing that Tim Tebow and Doug Fluite are pretty much one and the same. Because they don't fit as your IDEAL QUARTERBACK then you don't want to play them.

Even if your Rob Johnsons or Mark Sanchez's are getting sacked and turning over the ball all the time.

I feel sorry for the paying fans. Cuz New York has nothing to lose by going to Tebow but would rather just keep losing and that's fine. Im sure if they are like 3-10 they still will go with Sanchez. It doesn't look like a coach who is trying anything to win a game.

That is an embarrassing comparison. Russel wilson would be better in that comparison with Flutie. But only because of height.

Quit grabbing at stuff. Just let this play out.
