I know this is the last thing that many people on here want to hear, especially in light of today's events. However, our fanbase needs to keep the faith and hope for a little luck in the AFC. Let's hope for that less than one percent chance we win the division or the greater chance of getting a wildcard. Maybe Rex is on to something, and this is the kind of thing that forces the locker-room to stay together. I'm just trying to remain optimistic to drown out a lot of the negativity. Remember, the New York Titans (who were absolutely freaking broke) turned into the New York Jets and won a Superbowl. I believe we can make headlines (which Woody loves) by doing it again starting on Sunday against the Rams. Our 'playoffs' start now.
Sanchez has the potential to be as good as Brady, Mannings and Brees. Coaches and FO have faith in him. Otherwise they won't pay him that much of money. They must know football better than we John Does. That's why I have faith he will eventually turn things around and lead Jets to a SB, if not many SBs. We need to give him a little bit space to develop. He also brings us tons of good fans. Unlike some unpleasant bandwagon fans, Sanchez brought us good loyal fans who are supporting our team without destroying the chemistry. I wish we will make the playoffs despite all the negativity and distractions. In Sanchez we trust, till the end. Let's hold our hands and prey for a miracle. J~E~T~S~ JETS JETS JETS.
oh no this team will win 6 games. just enough to stay out of the top ten draft picks. probably win the last 3 to give management an excuse to stay the course. then we will be right here again next year. sorry about crushing the faith theme here
It's not happening this year brotha. I've been keeping the Jets faith for a long ass time. I'd like to be rewarded at some point.
Luckily we play Tennessee, Jacksonville, and Buffalo. That's three wins right there, to be honest. Honestly, the only game I think we can afford to lose is the Arizona game. Everything else, we have to win. The AFC is extremely weak for some strange reason. The 3-6 Eagles in the NFC are 14th out of 16. The 3-6 Jets are 11th out of 16th. If every team ahead of us loses, we amazingly enough propel to 8 out of 16. I'm telling everyone, I have a very good feeling about the remainder of the season. Passive miracles will happen.
If we, for some God-foresaken reason play like this, no. Buffalo is our last game of the season, so we should hopefully be playing at a much higher level. Jacksonville is Jacksonville. Tennessee will most likely be worse off than we are.
Have you been watching other Jets games than I have that they have put this much faith in you? They have played like one of the worst team in football more times than not this year... Our offense put up ZERO points last game... Cmon man, no game is a gimme at this point and I dont see how someone can feel really confident about playing any team on our schedule.
OP: I'm with you when it comes to staying positive. No matter how much I bitch & complain during the week, every Sunday I get behind the Jets & expect a victory with Sanchez lighting them up. Trust me I know these kinda thoughts sounds crazy but the hope/faith is still there on game day.
Pretty much, it'd be hard to keep it up if we fall to 3-7. 4-6 reminds me a lot of 2009 at around this time. That, and the AFC is ridiculously week this year. Also, Rothlesberger is out for who knows how long, it's probable that the Steelers won't even be in the playoffs. It makes our games with the Chargers and the Titans very important. You're right, no game is a gimme. However, I think we straighten a lot of things up this week and stop letting the Pats beat us. SOMEONE will QB us to a respectable record. You can all archive this if you want. If we fail at that, I will eat crow.
I'm with you on that. I'm going to try and stop my bitching and complaining, even about Sanchez. After all, self-fulfilling negative prophecies shouldn't be my (or anyone else's) MO. Besides, even if the Jets don't make it, we can at least hope the Patriots don't make it anywhere close to the SB.
The Colts need to go just 3-4 in their final 7 to get to 9-7. They'll get there. There's no way the Jets go 6-1. Tennessee and Buffalo are no sure wins. We have one fake road W and a bunch of road losses. Tennessee will be tough. 5-11, 6-10. This team is done.
The Titans are playing good and just blasted the shit out of the Dolphins, I doubt we go into Tennessee and beat them.
If we want to win, Sanchez needs to break out and elevate the play of others if not the season is done. Plus I can see the Steelers not winning too much with Big Ben out for a while with that rare rib injury or something of the sorts.
The thing is with the Colts is the fact that we caught them when they were down. If we do make it, we'd have the tiebreaker over them. Honestly, what we want to happen is Houston and Baltimore winning their divisions. Do that, and we don't have to worry about them competing for wildcard spots. The odds of us winning our division depends on how we do the next three games. If we win our next three (a tall order), we'll be at most a game behind the Patriots. From there, our schedule gets a lot easier while theirs gets a shit ton harder. I know I must be annoyingly optimistic and delusional, but I think we have a shot to turn this train-wreck into a train-ride thanks to the weak conference we're in.
I am keeping my faith. I have absolute confidence and faith in this team that they will suck for years to come under the unparalleled guidance of these dimwit clowns Woody Johnson and Mike Tannenbaum.
http://www.nfl.com/standings You would be at most 2 games behind the Patriots (assuming you get the tie breaker which isn't likely). Division is over, you guys have to think WC at this point.
