ill have to see the video of it. i can understand why mark would be worried about hte lb to the left of the referee at that exact second. if he tries to gun it in there its an int by the lb. if he lobs it over him he may think the db will make a play on it. either way it doesnt really matter at this point and i am not confident enough in what i saw yesterday to argue about it as it is fairly inconsequential.
Baltimore is where I think he lost it too. After the Jacksonville game we were on fire and he was on fire. We were 2-0 in the league, riding high from consecutive AFC championship appearances, a HUGE post season win in New England and everyone around was asking, who is the real class of the AFC East? It was on the road trip that he never came back. We went to Oakland and were dominant up 17-7 until McFadden got to the outside (securing the edge pfft). Sanchez played one heck of a game 27/44 369yds, completing two very notable passes one to Burress for a TD and one to Keller for a BIG gain. We flew from a tough loss in Oakland to Baltimore with no Nick Mangold. We had protection problems the entire game. Sanchez got killed all night, it was an absolute embarrassment and it was the Ed Reed strip sack that changed Mark forever. Very Reminiscent of the hit he took in Pittsburgh from Ike Taylor during the AFC championship game. Although at least in Pittsburgh that hit seemed to have awoken him and the entire offense. From Baltimore we traveled to New England and by the time we left New England he was gone. All the leaders from 2009 & 2010 are gone. Holmes had his little fit and Tomlinson decides to retire. The offense today is a bunch of sheep with hopefuls in Kerley, aging running back Greene and All pro center Mangold. We need a lot of help.
If you look at the ref in this pic ..The one in front of mangold. He is even moving his upper body away so sanchez can see. Look at the ref right in front of #74 mangold. He is rocking his body so the QB can see hill sprinting.
I am finished with this ^^^ argument but people change and sanchez has something else on his mind or does not care..
great post, im glad i am not alone in my thoughts about that ravens game last year. it was definitely brutal and he got beaten on all night including that ngata hit square in his back and that strip sack was brutal too.
Yeah I can't believe Sanchez didn't curve the ball around the two defender to Hill. Aaron Rodgers can't make that throw. There are two linemen you have to avoid, a LB spying you have to get it over and a DB you have to get it past. Sure he could throw a 50-50 lob and hope Hill outjumps the DB, but considering how good the SEA back 4 is he would likely be looking at a red zone pick (again) There is nothing there at all.
The pictures shows a lot, but I also wonder (to change the discussion of Sanchez) if this was another time Hill cut his route short? He has done it multiple times in other games, enough that announcers have noticed at times. I wonder if he was supposed to continue or stop. Either way Sanchez should have hit him, but that might explain why we don't see much Hill/Sanchez, not on the same page. The few times they are, it looks nice, but there are tons of times when Hill has stopped his route when Sanchez though he was continuing. They have 7 games that probably don't count coming up to work on that
Dude, wtf are you talking about? That throw is made every weekend by freaking high school qbs. You throw it between the 2 LBs with a little air under it. The damned DB is standing there as Hill passes behind him. If you think Hill wasn't open, then you are clueless Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 2
That doesn't cut in it the NFL where the talent is much higher. Sanchez tries that throw and the ball is most likely tipped or flies over Hill's head. It's never as simple as most people see it. I'm not trying to excuse Sanchez, because his play was piss poor most of the game, the issue was that he delivered the ball late to Keller, not that Hill might have been open for a split second pending a dangerous throw. They were set up to bait him into a throw like that and he really should have checked down or Keller should have stepped toward him a bit, he should have seen him lurking there waiting to jump in front. Who's that in the front chasing around the guy he's supposed to block? There's a good chance that might be what disrupted the play. Sanchez was under pressure with minimal rush. Howard and the person on the right (Ferguson?) both got destroyed by the people they were supposed to block. Gotta give some props to Seattle's defense. Our line needs big time improvement.
This sequence perfectly shows the decimation of Howard & Ferguson. And why is Moore just standing there flexing? The whole play looked bunk from the get go. WTF happened. 2 players each to block one guy while the rest just hung out in the endzone? Sanchez should have tried to run it in left with the extra men blocking for him instead of being wasted. It also looks like Powell stumbled. Even the ref is helping screen Sanchez, geez.
You still gotta make that throw. One pump fake to the side where Keller is, then throw the laser to Hill at the back of the EZ
he doesnt really come open untill the 4th picture and you can see sanchez has already moved to his second progression. he got stuck on the 2nd progression because he was wide open. the question is why all the pump faking and seconds wasted while the guy is open. yes he could have stayed with hill longer, yes he could have come back to hill and he would have been open. yes he should have gotten the ball out quicker and with more velocity to keller. these are all things we kill sanchez for week after week. but he had already moved on when hill became open. thats all i am trying to say.
He doesn't have to curve anything here...just aim in the vicinity of UTE in the "Salute Service" sign and it's an easy score. He was just impatient and moved to stared down Keller, which would have been fine if he fired it but instead, he waited at least a second (seemed like an eternity) and then threw the easy interception. If that defender had just another few inches of room on the sideline, it would have been 100 yard pick six. And Aaron Rogers can make that throw blindfolded probably.
What I see are three defenders that are hardly moving after the first couple of frames. There is a wide open lane that Hill is breaking into. It doesn't get much more open than that in the NFL. If you pay attention watching games you will see good QBs making that throw before Hill even clears the DB. But again - it doesn't matter because the throw that was made was butt ugly and ill advised.
All I see is a QB with all day to throw. I don't see why you think anyone got decimated here. He had an hour back there. Those guys were 5 yards BEHIND Sanchez, which is fine by me. Sanchez is clearly the biggest problem on this team at this point. There are other problems. He's just the worst one right now.
This is the stupidest thing I've read in this thread. You have a tall receiver in the back of the endzone against 3 zone defenders. If you can't make a high throw to the back line (a 20 yard throw straight down the middle), you have no business being in the NFL. What's worse is that he can easily step to his left, have Hill follow him and make the throw when he has a passing lane if he's so concerned with his pass getting tipped. What I see is a QB that's deathly afraid of throwing interceptions to guys he doesn't see coming. He's thinking too much, not playing on instinct and he doesn't trust his arm. There's a reason INTs almost always come after 2 pump fakes. He's not there mentally to be able to make the play properly and quickly. I'm telling you benching this guy is about the only chance we have to making him a decent NFL QB.
that throw is made almost every weekend in the NFL. his point being that it is such an easy throw that they can even do it in high school, not that they do it in high school but to throw over coverage to an open receiver in the back of the end zone is impossible in the NFL. that's not a dangerous throw at all, except for bad QB's.
