Mark was horrible Sunday but criticizing him over that still shot is unfair.

Staring at the target has the same effect.

I agree with this. In fact if you removed all the players from the picture where would you guess he was throwing the ball? Probably about where that camera man is to the right of the goal post.

While I agree that the still doesn't necessarily tell the story, the foot placement might be a clue to Mark's tentativeness. He's generally placed his feet so that he can maybe nail something from about 11 O'Clock to 2 O'Clock. I also think he probably dismissed Hill because he's tired of getting his passes knocked down and there are two big linemen between him and Hill just staring Mark down.

So now his foot placement is too far left as he is releasing and the result is, he has to "throw like a girl" without being able to put his full swing-weight into the throw. The result of this type of "girly pass," for lack of a better word, is almost always a slower ball, which is why the defender will have plenty of time to jump it.

i agree with this 100 percent!

51 was directly in the path when sanchez looked to him. they also had 2 guys underneath that he would have had to throw the ball THROUGH... if he lobs it up 51 gets it. the guy wasnt open.

lets not focus so much on one single play, and we are focusing on the part he didnt do wrong.

focus on that footwork, focus on the fear but please dont focus on hill. thats not the issue with the play.

The play was a bad call anyway. Play-action boot leg with a TE coming off the line running against the mis direction. Sanchez could walk in or toss it to the dick head wide open.

Play-action bootleg. let the mother make some plays with his feet.

Exactly. The best play of the game was made when Sanchez was on the move to the left. Get him moving. It'll also cut down on the amount of reads he has to make, and being on the move will allow him to just react and make plays. It'll be the best thing for him.

We have that in Tim Tebow. And he runs it better if the the defense gives him the opportunity.

No, no no no. Tebow is a running back who will occassionally complete a pass. Sanchez has always been a great passer on the move. this is an asset that he brings to the table that's never been used enough.

Guys as we pointed out yesterday Mark was using pump fakes all wrong.

Let say Hill wasn’t completely open when Mark looked at him. That’s what you use a pump fake for – to open up secondary receivers. He pumped faked 3 times to one guy. Mark should have immediately gone back to Hill after the first pump fake or two because that’s what a pump fake is for. He should know this after 55 starts!

Instead he pump faked a third time then threw it to the guy he was faking to. WTF? You might as well have a sign saying "I am really trying to throw to this guy - can you please move out of the way". How do you all not see how badly Mark stinks?

I dont know how you could defend him. I was a big Sanchez supporter up until about 2 weeks ago. In the last 12 games he has played absolutely horrible. He simply has just regressed. His footwork is terrible and much worse than it use to be. He never follows through with his throws (which if he had on that interception it might not have been picked off because he would have had more zip on the ball).

Its just disappointing to watch this continue. You are still defending Sanchez even though he is just a shell of his former self. He is not the Sanchez of 2010 that looked like he was the franchise QB, sadly. Every fan of the Jets wanted this guy to be that franchise QB, but we just have to admit that he's not at this point.

He is playing so poorly that I can't even make a good argument that he is a better choice than Tebow at this point. It's that bad.

I just needed to watch Tebow during the pre-season to confirm that for me.

And yes, I fully expect you to continue to defend Sanchez to the point of trying to explain how a WIDE FRAKKING OPEN STEPHEN HILL wasn't actually wide open.

Not that it matters, as Keller was WIDE OPEN during the entire play, right up til the end when Sanchez FINALLY decided to throw the ball to him.

I am trying to rememeber all the points Mark scored in preseason again...with the first team offense.

I do however remember Tebow beating Mark and the Jets last season. Ramming it down our throats in our own house.

Sanchez is dead last in completion % with 52%, and 30th in rating in his fourth year. You guys who think he is going to be good in this league are out of your minds. He is a complete bust, he does nothing well. But he'll be starting next year, we all know it.
