Mark hasn't so I'm not sure who you are referring to. This year he is but not through 4 years. Had a good year for a rookie top 10-12 season for all QBs in year 2 regressed to mid of the pack last year at bottom this year. but mark can still lose a few lbs and get back in shape, we just ned to get him a new trainer and some new weights. I don't normally bring up comp % so I am sure I was just replying to another post and: comp % w/ Keller: 59% comp % w/o Keller: 44% still seems to work
Was there a more hopeless QB than Alex Smith after 6 years folks ???? Good D to help him out....good OL....excellent WR's and a kick-ass TE....AND HE STUNK !!!! And then 1 teensy-weensy change happens.....a great coach who played QB in the NFL. And Smith turns into an All-Pro. So aside from not having a good OL, no good WR's, and having an OL coach instead of an ex-NFL QB or QB-coach (Kyle Shannahan ??), we're all set.
The whole offense is a bust. There's no silver bullet to fix the problems going on here. Jets organization from the top down needs to commit to turning this offense into a professional caliber offense. If the organization doesn't commit to it as a whole it'll continue to suck for the foreseeable future regardless of whose at what position.
The problem is there's no QB worth drafting. I think we stay the course with Sanchez and let him build some chemistry with the receiving core and TS's system. And then we draft an RB and a competent RT in next years draft. That plus a decent LB we could actually rebuild quickly. Mo&Co are playing solid right now, and another year under Kerley's belt with a #1 WR ( hopefully hill? ) could actually work out.
So I have always been anti-Sanchez, but the backlash has gone too far. He is what he has always been a borderline NFL starter, he's in a class with the Kyle Orton, Shaun Hill, Byron Leftwich, John Skelton etc. He can win you games if you have a good D, and an excellent line, but he shouldn't start on a contender, and he is a mess on a bad/mediocre team. The problem is that we have no replacement for him and the extension that saved us a bit of cap space this year guarantees him a spot on the roster next year as well. I think you play him out the rest of the year, take a low risk shot on a QB in the 2nd or 3rd round and let them battle it out in camp. Edit- For those saying there isn't a QB I think the following are decent risks if you can get them in the right round: Tyler Wilson 2nd EJ Manuel 2nd or 3rd Mike Glennon 3rd or later Zac Dysert 3rd or later Late round lotto ticket: Nassib, Sorenson, Carder
SF's D sucked donkey balls when Smith came into the league. And Arnaz Battle and Ashley Lelie were his WRs. They've drafted multiple OL with their top picks in the last few years. It was much more than one teensy weensy change. They've drafted very well and hired the right guy to lead them.
Umm, "Year 2" for Mark was 2010 was it not ? Please cite what stat categories Mark was "top 10-12" in.
I don't judge QBs on fantasy #s, he led us to 11 wins, he brought us back 4-5 times to win games late including a couple of miracle comebacks. That means much more to me than a QB compiling meaningless #s.
Which is irrelevant to the argument we are having. You are either being ignorant on purpose or stubborn. Simply posting those numbers is meaningless to the argument. You said it was more based on Keller. I said it was more based on the Ds completion % against. I posted the numbers against each team w/ ranking and whether or not Keller was playing. (ie: a direct comparison of both our arguments) It is clear to anybody with eyes what the difference is. You are ignoring it though because you'd rather have the illusion in your mind be true than face reality.
At this particular Point in Time Sanchez is the worst Starting QB in the National Football league and that is a fact! Period End of Story. In 2009 he had talent around him to help him now it is his turn to be that guy and he is not. There is no coach on the planet that will change his bad decision making and Happy Feet. That was evident when he had protection!!! It is time to end this Debacle and draft a QB or let that Bum Tebow who is worse than Sanchez or McElroy have a chance!!!
Are you kidding? The four year record is plain as day. Let's look at where he ranked in 6 major categories: 2009 2010 2011 2012 Comp% 29th 29th 28th 33rd Rating 28th 27th 23rd 30th YPA 18th 26th 27th 29th INTs 2nd 13th 5th 10th TDs 24th 19th 9th 22nd YPG 28th 25th 22nd 26th There are 24 rankings shown. I've highighted the ones that DON'T put him in the bottom 10 in the league for that category. 2009 "good year for a rookie" ... really?? he's in the bottom 5 in EVERY category. What was good about it? 2010 "top 10-12 season" ... what are you smoking? Not in the top 12 in ANY category, and in the bottom 7 in four of six categories. 2011 "middle of the pack" ... Good GOD! will you just accept what the numbers show? He wasn't anywhere near the middle. You realize there are 32 teams, right? The middle of the pack is 15th-17th. 2012 "at the bottom" ... Amen. That's four consecutive years of playing like garbage.
I regret to inform you that Facts and videotape do not work here in NY Jet Fantasy land. All you are going to hear is he went to the AFC Championship twice. No the Defense took the (TRENT DILFER CLONE THERE TWICE)!!!
Dude, you specifically said that "top 10-12 season for all QBs in year 2" That's a ranking that can only be based on Stats. Otherwise, you'd have to say that Trent Dilfer was the absolute best QB one year because he won a SuperBowl. Again, back up the statement that he was "top 10 - 12".
Funny. When I took the position that the Jets should run more and rely on Sanchez less, you said I was wrong. That play sums up almost everything that is wrong with Sanchez's game at this point. It has absolutely nothing to do with Sparano or Tebow. The only thing "fancy" about that play was the awesome pump fakes. Sanchez is simply dragging the team down. And as far as Tebow is concerned, he wouldn't be on the team if Sanchez was getting it done.
Waiting in aticipation for nyjunc's reply to all these posts. This will definitely be his crowning moment. :jets:
i dont know if the sanchez lovers think he's good to look at or what, but if they cant see that half the posters on this board can play better than he can then something is wrong with them. sanchez sucks.....ive said it since he got here. he doesnt have the IT that it takes to be a superbowl leading qb. cut him loose, let tebow play and run the spread or wildcat, hell let mcelroy play he was better in college than nacho. its time to let our team move on or it will get worse.
i am glad im not a nacho lover. aint no doubt he will come back but he really doesnt have any ammunition.
