I see Rex doing that (admitting the expensive mistake), not Woody. The $$ is the same regardless to Woody. I expect Woody to play his card soon and force Tebow on us. I haven't wanted that, but at this point, I can't see him being much worse than Mark. He may, at least, provide a spark. Mark is what he is. Shit.
Isn't it obvious that NOBODY in the Jets organization or in the locker room wants Tebow to start????????? Bringing Tebow in will go down as one of the worst moves in Jets history. Whatever confidence Sanchez had went down the toilet with this ridiculous move. The Jets have to be in the market for a new QB for next year. The future starting QB is not on the roster. Tebow should be traded in the offseason.
Wouldn't it be the opposite? Stick with Sanchez, we're 4-12, 3-13. Go to Tebow (the old addition by subtraction method) and we could get to 6-10. We'd still suck, but only enough to blow a shot at a better draft pick.
Don't anybody start with the whole "switching Quartebacks in and out all game is the cause of Marks putrid play this year" crap. There have been plenty of games this year the Sanchez sucked hard on his own without Tebow barely sniffing the huddle.
Other than Jacksonville there isn't a game on this schedule that you can honestly look at and say the Jets 'SHOULD' win. Not the Rams, not the Titans, not the Bills. All of which, incidentally, are on the road. Their only homes games are against the Pats (LOSS), Cards (LOSS, don't give me any crap about beating them the way we're going right now) and Chargers (LOSS). We'll be lucky to win 2 more games this year, 3 on the outside. 6-10 teams don't make the playoffs.
Forget Sanchez, why hasn't tebow been successful? This environment is unfair to either qb. Time is wasted in practice, there is a cluster every time one comes on the field. Pick a qb, play that qb every play of the game unless he gets hurt or benched for the rest of the game. Has never been successful in the nfl or college.
Denver 20th ranked defense 2011 Jets 17th ranked defense 2012 But don't let reality get in the way of perception and ESPN analysis bias.
What he is saying is if Tebow had an ounce of talent there would have been locker room chaos by now to start the backup, last year the argument was they don't have a backup to challenge the kid, this year they STILL don't have a backup worthy of starting on the team even when Sanchez by his play is basically begging to be benched. But don't let the ESPN media cloud what is clear as day.
Some of the anti-Tebow talk has me scratching my head also. So much talk about Tebow not being a "real" qb when we don't have a "real" qb starting either. Even if Tebow isn't the answer, at least show Sanchez that the team isn't his bitch & will accept any him no matter how shitty he performs on the field.
Pretty sure the Gators won a championship in FL during Tebow's freshman year with Leak and Tebow. Not only did it not hurt the team, it worked flawlessly. Then again, Urban Meyer > Rex Ryan. Chris Leak's confidence> Mark Sanchez's confidence.
why on earth do you think sanchez would lead this team to 6 more wins? if we want to tank for a higher draft pick then its clear you start sanchez. he gives us the best chance to LOSE.
its impossible to be worse the sanchez. he is playing QB at the lowest possible level right now. also, any qb in history? put rodgers or manning or brady on this team and we have a winning record right now
denvers defense allowed 24 ppg last year and 22 ppg in games tebow started. they also gave up 40 or more points 5 times. they werent special. Through 8 weeks last season Demaryius thomas, 6'3" speedster WR from georgia tech had 5 catches for 66 yards. through 1 week this season Stephen hill, 6'3" speedster WR from georgia tech had 5 catches for 84 yards and a touchdown. we certainly have a comporable if not better defense then denver last year, and a weapon similar and furhter along at this point then thomas was last year.
they have had several good games. you cant just look at the score. when sanchez throws a pick 6 that isnt on the defense. when sanchez fumbles or turns it over in our own end, that hands the opponent points. defense has been solid.
