Tannebaum and Ryan are heavily invested in sanchez, they did not bring Tebow in , woody did and Tebow wont start. Tebow is in his 3rd year, he is 24 years old...give him time.
The only downside, if you want to call it a downside, is that Sanchez could never return as the starting QB for a plethora of reasons. The Jets owe him money in 2013, but finding a true franchise QB is more important than a few million owed to one of the worst starting QB's in the league, I would hope/think. We'll see. Tebow Time won't come until December. They'll give Sanchez through Thanksgiving. They will. The reasons being money and time. If you're going to name Tebow the starter, you better have time to implement things, because obviously the only thing they've implemented for him so far is a direct snap, run into the middle for 2-4 yards. Between New England and Arizona you have 10 days. When the Jets are 3-8 or 4-7, that will be the time. I hope. Obviously the playoffs will be a distant thought by then (barring a 4-1 or 5-0 finish scenario where we win a tiebreaker), but hey, at least it will be the end of the Sanchez era. We should have a parade.
The downside to starting Tebow is that he'll probably fail in NY. I didn't think it was possible, but the Jets coaching staff seems to want him playing even less than the Broncos FO did last year. Tebow proved people wrong/right last season, though. Maybe he'll get a chance to do it again.
We don't assume anything, we would just like to see someone give him some respectable playing time. Here's my take on the subject. Last year Denver was well on its way to the Luck/RGIII three ring circus with expectations of competing with the Colts for the worst record. Up until the fifth game he was riding pine at Denver. Well he spoiled their plans for the Luck/RGIII circus and with the rest of his team got them in the playoffs. Had the forehead not become available Tebow would have probably started for Denver this fall. Anyway, now it's the next season and he's riding pine behind another poor performing QB but this time mega bucks were poured into the pockets of said poorly performing QB. Who knows maybe the management is continuing to play Sanchez in hopes of getting a quality QB in the draft. Unfortunately for the FO they're three games behind Tennessee in that department. Your credibility goes through the floor with remarks like this.
Dude its a message board... who has credibility? Its a place where guys and gals gather to talk about sports. most people have never played at a high enough level to know jack shit about the game they are talking about and everyone thinks they know everything.
Dude???? You are right about one thing, this is a place where guys and gals gather to talk about sports. Hopefully without having to be insulted, intimidated, bombasted with profanity, sexual references, and vulgar name calling. Over the last 17 years I have been a member of dozens of forums and this is the only one where the moderators allow this behavior. This is an open forum to which anyone may search and read the threads, including children. If what you post cannot be shown to either your parents or children, then it has no business being in a public forum. Understand I am not a prude, as a former Marine platoon sergeant I can probably out curse 95% of these forum members. I repeat this is an open forum. For me personally, if I feel a need to express my profane side, I'll go down to the local VFW and swap sea stories and tip a few. Football is a game where the participants are allowed to relive their childhood and PLAY while being financially rewarded for same. It is entertaining but at the same time it is only a game. SF
Question strictly for fun, do you think the jets would take Gabbert in a straight trade for tebow? Would the Jags? Blaine is younger, but they are both essentially critiqued 1st round draft pick qbs. What would the fans on both sides think about this?
I think more people would look at the team surrounding Gabbert and recognize it is worse than anything Tebow had around him. That and he can actually hit the broad side of a barn. Nothing spectacular about Gabbert, but if the Jagwads weren't willing to beat out a 4th round pick in an offer 7 months ago fror a chance to bring in Tebow... I'm guessing they aren't about to do the same with a guy they invested a 10th overall pick in either. What could Tebow have POSSIBLY done in the last 6 or 7 months to make them think he's going to be the answer to their own problems? If they want Tebow, they'll wait until the Jets cut him at the end of the season.
So how did Garrard take that team to 8-8 and playoff appearances? Gabbert had the LEAGUES LEADING RUSHER, and a top defense in 2011 and still sucked. Gabbert plays scared, and is afraid to take a hit in the pocket. Was like that at Mizzou, and the Mizzou faithful wondered why this guy was a top 10 pick in the draft? Gabbert has no leadership skills in college, how is he going to get them in the Pros? They need to bench him and start Henne, then clean house for a new QB, weather that is Tebow, Geno Smith, or Matt Barkley.
This is a Cimini article, and there is no basis for the comment I'm pulling from it, so I'm throwing it in this thread because I don't think it deserves it's own. The bold is my change, not what the writers used http://espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/story/_/id/8612133/new-york-jets-face-biggest-test-ever-rex-ryan-era
Thanks from a Soldier and a Marine. I was in inactive Army reserves when I joined the Corps. Semper Fi and happy 237th to any fellow Marines.
