If Jets can maintain the defensive effectiveness after the departure of Ryan (I sure hope he sticks around, even if that means DC post for now) then Jets need all the help they can get to fix this offense. I wouldn't mind Payton.

^This. I could see him moving to Dallas to be closer to his family who is still there. Jerry Jones could easily make that happen if the boys continue thier so-so play.

would love to have him but can't imagine he would want to come to the Jets, particularly given our personnel on offense

Only if Brees comes with him.

Sean Payton loved Sanchez even before he was drafted.....I think he would be up for tagging with Sanchez and think he can turn him around.

I'd bring him on board but I don't think they let go of Sparano after one year.

    this is a silly topic.

anyone who wants to stick with Ryan would obviously say no. and anyone who wants a new coach would be ridiculous not to say yes. if you want a new coach, there is no better option available.

there simply is nothing to even discuss. it is the equivalent of Drew Brees being available. who would say no to Brees except anyone who wants to stick with Sanchez?

you really think the decision to fire Rex and hire Payton would be decided by not wanting to fire Sporano?

Lol Payton would prob keep Sparano on board as they're buddies from their Dallas days.

Either way, he wouldn't come here I bet. Dallas or NO

He is loyal to Loomis but if any team can snag him it's Dallas , he has history there and actually lives there .

It's a pipe dream in any case

Is it awful or understaffed with talent? I think the latter. No RB1 or WR1, meh Oline, average QB = stinker offense and even then we've had games where we put up yardage.

I have a hard time pinning this fully on Sparano, a turd is a turd.

I'm not saying Sanchez is any good, but Joe Montana will look like shit in this offense.

There is no question about that, really. Look at what happened to the Saints without him this year. He likes it there and they like him there...no way he doesn't get something worked out with New Orleans.

He won't leave New Orleans and if by some miracle he were to, it would be to return to Big D.

Not gonna happen but I'd sign up for a Loomis/Peyton pairing and drive Rex & Tanny to the airport myself.
