I am back online after 4 days. Thank God. No damage to my house. I feel for the people who lost their everything. My prayers are for them. I wish I had money to help them a little bit.
So the marathon is cancelled so the new question is will the NFL di the right thing and make the Giants go play in Pittsburgh the way they forced New Orleans to play the Giants in the Meadowlands after Katrina. If the Steelers can't get to NY then why not? Oh wait..... it's the Mara's.
Hope everyone is doing well and safe. I am hearing rumbling of a Nor'easter heading up, but it's only rumblings and for late next week. Hopefully my amateur meteorology skills are wrong
I just heard on CBS 2 news that a Nor'easter was heading our way next Wednesday. I hope Jay is around to look at his models.
Have you heard? The Steelers can't get to New York on Saturday because of some type of hotel issue. And did that game really need to be moved to NY? I seem to remember a Chargers/Phins game moved to Phoenix because of fires in SD. The Steelers are now being forced to fly in before kickoff on Sunday and go directly from the airport to the stadium. Which OBTW violate NFL rules. http://espn.go.com/blog/nfceast/post/_/id/45148/steelers-giants-what-its-like-in-new-jersey
I agree. This is double standard. I don't like the idea of using state resources to support the Giants game. Especially when we are having huge gas shortage in NJ. Let the Giants play in Pittsburgh or another city. Just not at the Met Life.
That's another reason... throw in Little Ferry which is 2 minutes down the street from the stadium is still flooded, hell move the game to a nuetral but to force the Steelers to fly to NY before kickoff as to not inconveinence the Giants is bs.
gas shortage is spreading, there's almost no gas in my neighborhood in queens. I saw a line many blocks long with cars inching along with their headlights off, except they didn't realize that the Hess at the front of the line had no gas. Another Hess was the only station out of maybe 10 that actually was open and had gas. The line was probably 200+ cars long and cops were everywhere to keep order. People were seriously pissed. So glad I have like 3/4ths of a tank in my car, should last me at least a week and I'll avoid driving as much as possible
Christie announced odd-even gas rationing for 12 counties starting Saturday. It's feeling more and more like the Carter years in America these days.
Well. First time I've been on here since Sunday night. Just got my power back now. All I gotta say for now is...WOW
Had this long typed out post and lost power on Phone. Bottom line 75 foot pine in front of my house crashed down on house 5 minutes after my last post. Nothing compared to the devastation I have read about while catching up. No power for another 3 days and my heart goes out to all that have had it much worse than many of us. Will check models for first time about possible noreaster this week and be back. Working from phone so a bit slow. Great job by all that posted here. Not surprised at all because this site has some of the best posters around.
Got power back @ 2pm yesterday....(Englewood) Me and the wifey prepared and were ready for a 7-12 day stint. When the power came on we literally did a happy dance...
