We already proved we can have a top running game, special teams and defense and cant win the superbowl with Sanchez
This is a great post but I do not think that Sanchez was or will ever be a good QB. You can not coach away his bad decision making when he has pressure, Happy Feet or lack of command in the Huddle. At best he can be a poor man's Trent Dilfer. Since we don't have the Ravens defense we will not win with him.
Sanchez is a Bum but he should be given the chance to lose the job beyond a reasonable doubt. As bad as Sanchez is Tebow is worse. Elway pulled a rabbit out of his hat by getting Manning and not having to face public scrutiny for it. He knew Tim Tebow was not a QB. No way they get rid of a good young QB if he was good.
Like him or not, Sanchez is the 12th highest paid player in the NFL and the 38th highest paid athlete in the entire world of sports. He has to play if only based on that, he either succeeds eventually or the FO goes down with the ship. All the "get rid of Sanchez" talk is wasted breath.
Perhaps... Sanchez does not inspire confidence. As for Tanny, take a look at the team... Where are the play makers, the players whom other teams must account for? Tanny has not brought any to the JETS for two years, Prior to that he was busy building a team to win quick and he squandered the future. No great draft choices, no decent free agents and no trades worth talking about. Why? Not enough money, which was spent going for broke in Rex's first two years. So it goes.
If Sanchez goes elsewhere we all know he's going to take off. It's unfortunate we have a front office that doesn't care enough to surround him with talent to grow and develop with.
In year three they took away 2 WRs that he had 2 years of chemistry with. The situation was nice in 09, but it's gotten much worse since then. Can you honestly disagree with that? Sanchez had his best year last year with much less than he had in 09 / 10. This year we don't even have Holmes to fall back on and Keller's been out. LT was not a big factor in 11, so there's another drop off along with Damian Woody and Faneca the prior year. The talent on offense has slowly dropped off since 2009. Run blocking downhill, Pass protection downhill, running game as a whole downhill, WR core downhill. Even our TEs have gone downhill (not including Keller who's been hurt). I can't think of one aspect that has actually improved on offense in the past 2 years. Can you? If Mark could do it before, he can do it again. He just needs better protection and receivers that don't drop so many passes.. and a running game that's actually a slight threat.
Did you not understand a God damn word in that post? We were winning with Sanchez until the FO made some fucked up decisions. Mark was on pace to have as many victories as ANY 3 year QB starter in NFL history. All they had to do was keep what was working and build depth and maybe the Jets would of had a Lombardi trophy.
yes because Quarterbacks with terrible accuracy, poor recognition skills, who are turnover prone, squeamish under pressure, and who lock in on their target usually pan out eventually. puh-lease. the guy isnt good. he has had times where he had plenty of talent around him and overall still looked awful. time to grow? he is in year 4! he is among the 5 worst starting qbs in the league with a handleful more backups who are better. hell its not out of the realm of possibility he is the 3rd best qb on his own team!
Why is Tebow not worse? Just because Sanchez is playing poorly doesnt mean he would do better. Our offense doesn't consist of Demaryius Thomas, Eric Decker and Willis McGahee. You honestly think Tebow could do more with the "weapons" the Jets have right now? The only reason I would want Tebow to take over is because it forces us to rebuild and hopefully kick Tanny and this shitty scouting department to the side and try all over again with a new QB, not because he gives us a better chance to win.
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...r-be-compared-to-rodgers-than-newton/related/ RG3 would rather be compared to Rodgers than Newton Posted by Darin Gantt on November 1, 2012, 10:20 AM EDT Washington Redskins v Pittsburgh Steelers Getty Images Given the precocious play of Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III, which mirrors the precocious play of Panthers quarterback Cam Newton a year ago, the comparisons are natural this week since they play each other. But setting aside the lazy and frankly insulting implication that they’re similar, based on one obvious factor (not Heisman Trophies), Griffin said he’s aiming a little higher. “I’d rather be compared to an Aaron Rodgers or a guy like that,” Griffin said, via Rich Campbell of the Washington Times, “someone who has won Super Bowls.” While it’s easy to perceive that as a slam on Newton, it’s more about Griffin’s own goals. He’s exceeded every expectation this season, but the struggles of Newton make him mindful that he needs to keep working. Newton called the season “humbling,” and Griffin said he doesn’t want to have the same thing happen. “You try to appreciate everything and try not to weigh too much on your personal success so that you don’t have to be humbled,” Griffin said. “I don’t want to ever need to be humbled because I always appreciate things and make sure I continue to forward and try to do better.” Both quarterbacks are sensational talents, but fans in both cities are learning it takes a support system around them to translate that talent into more wins. Whichever one is best surrounded will have the best chance to emulate Rodgers.
Mark Sanchez could have Jerry Rice and Calvin Johnson on the outside and he'd still throw balls over receivers heads, into the ground, throw screens 150mph low, throw into defenders chests and still have mopy ass bullshit attitude no matter where he goes. He's a turnover machine. Tim Tebow is the punt protector? Mark Sanchez is the punt producer.
What mopey attitude? I keep hearing this myth but never see it. And no, if Sanchez had good protection, he'd be fine, even with the WR core we have. He sucks when he's under pressure or gets hit hard.
is mcgahee really that much better then greene? is decker much better then kerley? was thomas as a rookie much better then hill? no. no. and no.
in games where mark had protection, he was still terrible. i cant imagine anyone in the league doing worse then mark has this year had they been in there instead
so in other words, as long as we had a top 3 run game and top 3 defense and didnt need mark to do anything but be a bottom 5 qb, we would win. gotcha. the problem is, the jets though mark didnt suck. they tried to be more pass oriented, moving away from the run. the results were diasterous, as sanchez was revelead for what he is. a bottom 5 player. The truth is, put any qb in a system where all they have to do is handoff, and give them a defense that will bail them out for being a turnover machine, and they will be incredibly successful. Mark isnt going to suddenly become an avg QB. he is what he is, a poor player. we need to see what we have in tebow and mcelroy and try and draft someone who cant be at least an average player without having a pro bowl lineup around them
McGahee >>>>>>> Greene absolutely. McGahee can run catch and protect. Decker and Kerley - this is debatable. Decker will have the better #s due to Peyton Thomas is was far more polished then Hill in this stage. So Yes, No, Yes. Depth on offense is also better all-around as well.
thats funny, because after 8 weeks last thomas had just 5 catches. FIVE! hell thomas had less catches, yards, and touchdowns in 8 games then hill had in his first game alone! so get out of here with this more polished stuff.
